As many of you know, there is a large ecosystem of incubators and accelerators in Canada which exist to support startups like Spero. A few weeks ago, we found ourselves invited to numerous accelerators, but we chose to go with Plug and Play Tech Center's competitive sustainability program. Through it, we got to make some in-roads with numerous oil and gas companies, such as CNRL, and we feel confident that it's a market we can break into, thanks to those connections. This past week, we participated in Plug and Play's summit at Kananaskis, AB, and had an incredible time meeting our startup peers - like fellow hustlers Amb.AI - and pitching to investors and design partners in the petroleum industry. We are excited to share that we’ve been invited to join the Avalon Mining Technology Roundtable to share how Spero's IoT technology can enable real-time environmental and safety monitoring in Canada's emergent lithium mining industry. The session, which was hosted by Qualcomm, brought together numerous other startups, like EAIGLE, working at the cutting edge of technologies that will be at the forefront of Canada's mining boom. 🎉 🎈 Some lovely Halloween news for those of you following Spero: We were selected as one of seven startups awarded $10,000 as part of the York Region's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund (EIF). The award, which is coordinated with ventureLAB, aims to support exceptional startups working to advance the region's Agri-Tech and/or Cleantech sectors. More great news to come!

We are happy to announce that UTEST, University of Toronto has recently made a sizable pre-seed investment in Spero Analytics. UTEST have been an incredible supporter and mentor to us from the very start. Their guidance has helped us raise almost $250,000 in VC and nondilutive funding; they helped us incorporate via Fasken (h/t to Kate Grant), and saw us establish our presence in the waste management sector. The past 3 months have been a whirlwind for Spero (in all the good ways), and as a result, we've unfortunately not been able to share all the great news, but that changes today! We’re excited to share that we’ve been selected to participate in #PNPTCAlberta’s Fall 2024 Sustainability program! 🚀 For those unaware, Plug and Play Tech Center is one of the finest incubator programs in the country, and they have graduated some of the most successful startups across the world over the past few years. Big thanks to Tarek El Naggar for scoping us out and inviting us to apply!

Happy to announce that Spero Analytics won 3rd place in the highly competitive Desjardins Startup Prize @ UofT.
