27 Years of Celebrating Excellence: Reflecting on the John C. Holland Awards Journey Twenty-seven years ago, I embarked on a journey to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions of African Canadians to our community. This journey led to the founding of the John C. Holland Awards, a platform designed to spotlight the outstanding achievements and dedication of individuals who tirelessly work to make a difference. The idea was simple yet powerful: to create a space where excellence is acknowledged, stories are shared, and community bonds are strengthened. Over the years, the awards have grown, evolving into a cherished institution that not only honours achievements but also inspires the next generation to continue building a legacy of impact and community service. As I reflect on the journey of the John C. Holland Awards, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. Pride in the incredible array of honourees who have graced the stage over the years, each with their own unique story of perseverance, innovation, and leadership. Gratitude for the community that rallied around this vision, making it possible to celebrate 27 years of excellence. I embrace with open arms, eager to witness the legacy of the John C. Holland Awards continue under fresh stewardship of the next gen. I look forward to the continued celebration of our community's excellence and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Here's to another year of the John C. Holland Awards, and to many more as we keep the legacy alive for future generations. #JohnCHollandAwards #CommunityExcellence #Legacy #AfricanCanadianContributions Gary WarnerJuliet Daniel Renee Wetselaar Tresha Wallace Dwayne Rutherford, DES Matthew Green Denise Christopherson
