Looking for an impactful gift? Each $100 donation to Safe Water Social Ventures helps a family purchase a water purifier for their home (www.swsv.org). The family then saves an average of $40/yr in treatment costs for water related illnesses (over the 25 year life of that biofilter). In other words, the $100 donation results in the family saving $1,000 (which they frequently use to send children to school). For every $100 donation, pictured below is a keychain tag we can mail to you as a reminder of the family that your donation helped to gain access to safe water. To receive the keychain filter model tag, fill out the info for which address to send it to at: https://lnkd.in/gTJhm36C Enviro-Stewards Inc.

Empowering Sustainable Change
About us
1 in 3 people globally don’t have access to safe drinking water. They have water, it just isn't safe to drink. The water related illnesses near our projects include cholera, typhoid, dysentery, amoeba, and worms. Safe Water Social Ventures provides training to local teams, enabling them to build a sustainable business and provide water that is both safe and affordable for their communities.

The Impact Film Festival (IFF 2024) also featured “Step Up Construction”, about a social enterprise established by Inner City Youth Alive in Winnipeg’s North End community, to employ local youths (https://lnkd.in/gNEAzcPv). The film was put together by Root Visuals. If you are looking to contract construction work in the Winnipeg area, consider hiring Step Up to support the profound impact it is having on people’s lives (https://lnkd.in/g4CR3kYs). If you’d like to learn more about Safe Water Social Ventures and/or make a donation to help families purchase their own bio-sand filter to provide safe water for up to 25 years, check out: https://lnkd.in/gkMV4D-u And if you have a compelling story to tell, the call for short films for IFF 2025 is now live: https://lnkd.in/gWh-NNkt Andrew Braun Cullen Klassen Bruce Taylor Lloyd Hipel, P.Eng. We are very thankful for the organizations and people who shared their stories with us for this year’s Impact Film Festival 2024. As an event follow up, we would like to acknowledge and share another note about each of the films selected this year. For a start, consider The Raw Carrot. We are glad they were involved this year in a couple different ways. If you are interested in helping the Raw Carrot create jobs for those facing barriers, while sharing a meal with your own team, then it is time to put your soup where your mouth is. 😊 Attendees of the impact film festival tasted Raw Carrot’s soup products in the lobby and enjoyed a short film during the festival highlighting the Raw Carrot’s heart and mission (https://lnkd.in/g6_-kmzT). Contact the Raw Carrot for nourishing meals for your team! One of the attached photos is of the Enviro-Stewards Inc./Safe Water Social Ventures team enjoying a nice lunchtime connect with some Raw Carrot soup. Wishing everyone a season of experiencing warmth on the inside. :) Kevin McKay Rebecca Sherbino Claire Drage Diane Talbot-Schoenhoff Christina Ng Bruce Taylor

Thanks for the encouraging message, much appreciated! We have our big annual event tomorrow night, (20th Anniversary!) Learn more and sign up at: https://lnkd.in/gmyFcHQU
At Esplanade Restaurants, our passion lies in creating meaningful change locally and globally. We’re excited to build on this commitment through our Cup for a Cup initiative at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Toronto. To showcase this impactful mission, we’ve produced a compelling video illustrating how your meal contributes to positive change. With every glass of water served in our restaurant, we match it by providing an equal amount of clean, safe drinking water to families in Uganda. It’s a small gesture with a profound impact—each sip you enjoy here helps secure a brighter future for those in need. Our Cup for a Cup initiative is part of a larger commitment to sustainability and community. In 2023, we collaborated with Enviro-Stewards to identify energy-saving opportunities at our Toronto location. Additionally, we partnered with Safe Water Social Ventures, empowering 50 families in East Africa to access safe drinking water through subsidized bio-sand filters. Our new video shows how your support makes a direct impact on these efforts. Every meal at the Old Spaghetti Factory helps drive us closer to a sustainable and compassionate world. Here’s to making a difference—one glass at a time!

Kindred Credit Union is a Silver Partner for the Safe Water Social Ventures (SWSV) and the Impact Film Festival 2024. We are thankful for the support this will bring in helping ten families to obtain safe and clean water. This is one way that the Kindred Credit Union is acting on their desire to impact the world in amazing, positive ways, and to inspire peaceful, just, and prosperous communities. Their partnership with the SWSV work will provide access to clean and safe water by helping families to purchase their own bio-sand water filters at a heavily discounted rate (that will purify water for up to 25 years). Being a SWSV partner also helps build local capacity and create decent jobs. Come and learn more about this work and the positive impact other organizations throughout Canada and different parts of the world are having at the Impact Film Festival 2024 on November 21st.
