We are excited to announce that Hon. Justice Chidinma Thompson of the Court of King’s Bench (Alberta) will be the keynote speaker at the inaugural Internationally Trained Lawyers (ITL) Conference in 2025. Justice Chidinma is an exemplary ITL who has shattered glass ceilings and broken barriers as a trailblazer in the Canadian legal profession. Her remarkable journey from Nigeria to becoming a respected figure on the Bench exemplifies dedication, resilience, and excellence. Justice Thompson’s accomplishments demonstrate the power of perseverance in overcoming challenges as an internationally trained lawyer, and her career serves as an inspiration to many aspiring professionals. Hon. Justice Chidinma Thompson was born and raised in Nigeria. She was called to the bar in 2002 and practiced law with an international law firm until she immigrated to Canada in 2004. In 2007, she obtained her LL.M from the University of Calgary and was the first candidate to obtain a Ph.D. (Law) from the University of Calgary. She became a partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in 2017. She spent her legal career as a lawyer, adjudicator, and arbitrator. 🎉 What a Night! Celebrating 20 Years of Directions for Immigrants! 🎉  Wow, what an incredible celebration we had for our 20th anniversary! The energy was electric, the attendance was phenomenal, and the joy was palpable. It was a night to remember, filled with laughter, heartfelt stories, and a shared sense of accomplishment. We celebrated our clients’ successes and enjoyed connecting with many of you!  A massive shoutout to our amazing team and volunteers who went above and beyond to create a truly magical evening. Your hard work and dedication shone through every detail, making this celebration an unforgettable experience for everyone. Thank you to all our attendees for joining us and making the night so special.
