To help you better understand the holistic, evidence-based services offered for individuals, I have written this blog on Trauma-Informed Coaching and Consulting. Trauma impacts every aspect of life—emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual. For individuals navigating high-conflict disputes, relationship breakdowns, separation, divorce, hidden abuse, gender-based violence, and post-separation abuse, the challenges can feel isolating and overwhelming. Their circle of support can often feel overwhelmed too. That’s where The Mother Corp comes in—to effectively support the individual, alleviating the weight felt within their network. These trauma-informed services provide tailored, evidence-based support to help individuals process their experiences, navigate systems, solve problems, gain clarity, make informed decisions, and rebuild their lives so they thrive. My clients experience relief, support, and greater resilience as they work through their challenges. These services are designed for English speakers globally. I work with individuals, often parents, from all relationship configurations. Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/gpS7Ntsh

Happy New Year everyone. I'm grateful to be back. Today I want to share an overview of the services The Mother Corp offers to support individuals navigating trauma and complex life challenges. The Mother Corp provides confidential, highly responsive trauma-informed coaching and consulting services. We specialize in relationship breakdowns, high-conflict disputes, separation, divorce, hidden forms of abuse, and gender-based violence. Our work is holistic and evidence-based, with a focal area driven by the reality that 23 percent of marriages end due to abuse. Of 1,000 marriages in British Columbia, 7.5 end in divorce (Statistics Canada, 2023), and 23 percent of those divorces are linked to domestic abuse within the marriage (Hartley, 2022). In Canada, 5 to 10 percent of divorces are classified as problematic (Special Joint Committee from the Department of Justice Canada), and 10 to 15 percent involve repeated litigation over custody, access, and support issues (Government of Canada, 2022). High conflict persists in 8 to 12 percent of cases long after divorce (Ministry of the Attorney General, British Columbia, 2006). This service offers strategic navigation, problem-solving, and informed decision-making. Drawing on professional, educational, and lived expertise, clients are supported in addressing their unique challenges with effective emotional, logistical, and practical supports, enabling them to navigate complex situations and make informed decisions. The benefits of these services include regaining clarity, improving emotional stability, and equipping individuals with the tools and strategies needed to manage challenges and move forward with confidence. I will be writing more on this in the coming days. If you have questions or comments I welcome them.

Fourteen beautiful lives lost to femicide. This anniversary marks the day many Canadians first learned about the extent of hatred against females and women. Femicide is horrific. It happens far too frequently in this country (yes, here). A major obstacle to ending violence against women is society's unwillingness to name it for what it truly is: an act of hatred. Until we confront this truth, we cannot dismantle the systems and behaviours that perpetuate it. Take meaningful action. Start by educating yourself and your workforce. Gender-based violence is often an invisible issue affecting people in your life, unbeknownst to you. Learning about it equips you with the capacity to provide support and ensure trauma-informed approaches that amplify safety and lead to meaningful help. We need system change and a shift in our permissively enculturated gender norms. This starts with our relationships and the ways we interact with each other. I firmly value and love men who use their power and privilege to support, accompany, interject, interrupt, and help dismantle violence against women. Men and women are enculturated differently. I invite you to think about your particularly gendered skills and offer to share them with someone who could use a hand. Build bridges. Become an Ally. Practice consent. Speak up. Have conversations with your kids. Emote. Love, boldly. Together, we can change the narrative and take meaningful action. Please send me a DM to learn more about how my educational workshops on trauma-informed practices and gender-based violence can support you and your team. I look forward to hearing from you.

Together, we can break the silence and take a stand against harm, fostering a future rooted in safety, equity, and respect. Addressing gender-based violence is not just about creating awareness but also about taking meaningful actions that lead to transformative change for individuals and communities. This journey involves understanding the pervasive impact of gender-based violence, hidden abuse, and the systems that uphold inequality (inadvertently and intentionally). By engaging in education and advocacy, we empower ourselves and others to cultivate healthier, safer environments. If you're ready to deepen your understanding of gender-based violence and explore ways to educate and empower yourself and your team to create meaningful change, please get in touch. Together, we can foster awareness, build essential skills, and implement trauma-informed practices to cultivate stronger, more supportive workplaces. Send a message to start the conversation. Change is possible.

At The Mother Corp, we are dedicated to addressing gender-based violence each and every day. Gender-based violence is insidious and all too widespread. There are so many brilliant minds working towards improving this societal problem, but there are many gaps in services, unfortunately, due to insufficient funding and resources (like affordable housing). At The Mother Corp, we specialize in the more invisible forms of gender-based violence, including hidden abuse, financial abuse, institutional abuse, and post-separation abuse. These are frequently invisibilized and extended forms of abuse that deplete. By effectively supporting impacted people to navigate, strategize, problem-solve, and make informed decisions, people can steer themselves to safety. We are here to empower people impacted by GBV.
