  • Modern life is taking its toll on the wellbeing of humanity. We hear it daily in our clients, and feel it on some level when we don't engage in all of our wellbeing practices. People are disconnected, over capacity and highly stressed, feeling a lack of control and like life is bombarding them. How we navigate these times is critical to maintaining good mental wellbeing and monitoring our capacity by focusing on what we can control. We are sharing 5 tips with you to navigate the holiday season. If you want to chat more or are interested in the gift of care for your team this December, reach out for a lunch and learn from TrU. We are in this together! Nourish Health, Ignite Performance. #workplacewellbeing #leadership #performance #mentalhealth #peopleand culture #hr

  • Hyper-Vigilance and People Pleasing are pathological coping mechanisms that can lead to poor mental health. Both of these behaviours can be changed with awareness to their impacts and how they are drivers to anxiety, depression and ultimately burnout. When we reclaim our TrU Selves we get to replace pathological behaviours with healthy alternatives. Nourish Health, Ignite Performance. #mentalhealth

  • 🌟 Psychological Safety: The Foundation of Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing 🌟 A workplace thrives when people feel safe expressing their ideas, voice concerns, and admit mistakes without fear of judgment, retaliation, or punitive actions on performance. When employees feel secure, trust is built, collaboration is seamless, innovation flourishes, relationships deepen, and results follow. Leaders who foster psychological safety empower their teams to take risks, learn from failures, and achieve greatness together. Psychological safety is crucial for enhancing performance and wellbeing in the workplace. 👨💻A recent survey revealed that only 26% of leaders create psychologically safe environments for their teams, highlighting the need to develop leadership practices. 👩💻 Additionally, 55% of workers believe their employers overestimate the mental health of their workplace, a significant gap between perception and reality. By beginning with psychological safety as the foundation for your organization's wellbeing efforts, organizations can build trust, encourage open communication, and drive innovation and increase business results. https://lnkd.in/gq4eh8sp https://lnkd.in/grqRxEqQ #PsychologicalSafety #WorkplaceWellbeing #leadership #mentalhealth #belonging #inclusion

  • At this summers Global Wellness Institute Workplace Wellbeing Initiative (Global Wellness Institute) 2nd Annual Workplace Wellbeing Summit, Kerry Marchment and Jocelyn Pepe, MSc. RHC. explored the importance of boundaries to mitigate burnout in the workplace. Boundaries are essential for preventing burnout and maintaining workplace well-being. When clear boundaries are set, individuals can protect their personal time, mental health, and energy levels. Without them, work can easily bleed into personal life, leading to exhaustion, stress, and decreased productivity. Burnout results from prolonged exposure to high stress without proper recovery, often exacerbated by a lack of boundaries. Prioritizing well-being through regular breaks, manageable workloads, and open communication fosters a healthier, more sustainable work environment. Ultimately, respecting boundaries benefits both employees and organizations by boosting morale, increasing engagement, and preventing burnout before it negatively impacts performance. • Meet my brother Justin an incredibly talented chef @caciopepemeals, loving dad, husband, brother, and son. He has spent his life in hospitality and seen the full range of Mental Health. “After working 20 years in the service industry, one thing was certain; It is not exactly a breeding ground for good mental health. Mental Health in Hospitality presents very unique challenges, to those working front line and those leaders supporting them. “Often long erratic hours, it is hard to get into any sort of rhythm. The stress in the hospitality industry is always high, and it is a mentally demanding job, everybody wants something, and they want it in short time. There is no such thing as breaks, there is no time to eat, it is go, go, go, from start to finish. Unfortunately due to these factors, it is also an industry where alcohol and drugs are used often, as most people find this an escape from the high stress environment that they are immersed in on the daily. It is a vicious cycle of working in high stress, where you are watching people drink, have a good time, and by the time your shift finishes it is often quite late; 12am or later, and at this point you go to forget about the high stress and “unwind”. Usually it is this game of self medicating your “work stress” that leads people down the slippery slope in the hospitality industry, causing lasting mental health issues. I’ve been there and seen it all.” - Justin Pepe, Red Seal Chef, Cacio Pepe Meals If you are interested in supporting your team with tips and tools heading into the holidays we can help.
