I'm recruiting graduate students for Fall 2025 to work at the intersection of Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Robotics. If you are interested in building a controllable organic data engine, and enabling robots to learn safely from such data, consider applying to UofT's Computer Science PhD program and selecting me as a potential advisor. The theme of our work is broadly inspired by recent advances in understanding human learning. 🧑🏫 We are interested in leveraging real-world data and knowledge encoded in large-scale models to guide the data generation process. To achieve this, we work on some of the foundational underlying problems, such as controllable 3d and generative modeling, physics and dynamics learning, and model-based RL. It takes a village to build a world. 🌎 With the Vector Institute, the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, the Data Sciences Institute, University of Toronto, and the University of Toronto Robotics Institute, there is a vibrant and growing AI research community around the University of Toronto, and we have a growing cluster of roboticists in computer science.
