The Great Legowars are under way at VDZ. First event was to build the longest bridge possible using a box of legos that was left in our office with a 30 minute time limit. It’s always interesting to see how designers approach these creative tasks. Some jumped into the rules and tried to find every competitive angle. Others started the design and edited real-time. We learn so much about designers from watching them work. Computer drafting limits our ability to witness how each person approaches their design work. Next up. The tallest tower. Let the battle begin.

We are proud to be a part of this great team and provide integrated landscape architecture and civil engineering consulting services for the Whistle Bend Elementary School!
The recently-completed Whistle Bend Elementary School in Whitehorse, YK is featured in the September issue of Award magazine. This school was designed for the frigid northern climate by Northern Front Studio and Thinkspace, and built by Ketza Construction Corp. This 425-student, K-7 school does more than face the elements, however – it also meets the needs of 21st century learners while simultaneously incorporating First Peoples learning principles.
