  • Excited to continue our exploration of waterStrider’s innovative water treatment solutions with part 2 of the Misty CO₂™ series! 💧 💡 What Misty Does: Misty's capabilities go beyond simple pH neutralization. It efficiently consumes CO₂, thereby contributing to carbon capture efforts. By doing so, it not only neutralizes pH but also lowers the fouling potential of treated water. Additionally, Misty enables regulatory compliance by ensuring optimal pH levels. 🌍 Why Misty is Useful: By replacing traditional acids used in pH neutralization, Misty not only saves purchase costs but also mitigates risks associated with handling hazardous chemicals. Misty also helps avoid significant risks of dosing excess acid, transporting hazardous chemicals, and worker safety during chemical handling. Moreover, it significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing waste CO₂, aligning with environmental sustainability goals. Plus, Misty can generate carbon capture credits!   ·        💰 Cost-Efficient Operation: Operating costs with Misty are kept to a minimum. The energy requirements for pumped fine mist spray recirculation are negligible, and with Misty CO₂, there are no additional operating costs. ·        📦 Modular and Compact Design: One of Misty's key advantages is its modular and transportable design. The size of each Misty system can be tailored to specific requirements, depending the mine water flow rate and desired pH adjustment.   To learn more about how Misty can help your business, check out our website: https://lnkd.in/gyQArAbv or get in touch with us today 📨 info@waterstridertmt.com.   Stay tuned for insights on another one of waterStrider’s technology: MikroForme™  #waterStrider #MistyCO2 #MiningInnovation #CleanTech #WaterTreatment #CarbonCapture #Sustainability 🌱💧

🌊💧 Introducing Misty CO₂™: a Clean, Safe and Inexpensive Way to Generate Acid at Mine Sites Using Carbon Capture💧🌊   Mining operations often face the challenge of treating mine water to remove dissolved metals, which can result in water with pH levels too alkaline for safe discharge into receiving waters. Traditionally, mines have relied on concentrated acids like sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid to lower pH levels, but these methods come with significant risks, costs, and environmental concerns.   waterStrider is proud to present Misty CO₂™, a revolutionary solution that offers a clean, safe, and inexpensive alternative for generating acid at mine sites while also contributing to carbon capture efforts.   🔍 Current Methods of Supplying Acid to Mine Sites: ·        Sulphuric acid ·        Hydrochloric acid However, these concentrated acids pose numerous challenges: ·        Risks of chemical spills and worker exposure ·        High costs associated with purchasing, transporting, and handling ·        Significant carbon footprint from production and transport 🔧 How Misty Works: Misty CO₂ harnesses the power of carbon capture technology by capturing CO₂ emissions from generators or other engines using diesel fuel or natural gas. Similar to the process of carbonation in beverages, CO₂ dissolved in water forms carbonic acid, effectively lowering the pH of alkaline mine water to near-neutral levels for regulatory compliance.   Our patented Misty™ technology operates by spraying alkaline water into an enclosed tank headspace filled with CO₂ gas, allowing the pH of alkaline treated mine water to be lowered to any pH, down to pH neutrality.   With Misty CO₂, mining operations can: ✅ Ensure regulatory compliance with pH levels ✅ Reduce risks associated with hazardous chemical handling ✅ Lower operational costs and carbon footprint ✅ Contribute to carbon capture and environmental sustainability efforts   Tune in next time to learn more about about what Misty CO₂™ does and why it is useful. • Excited to continue our exploration of waterStrider’s innovative water treatment solutions with part 2 of the Amprey™ series! 💧   In this installment, we delve deeper on what Amprey™ does and why it is useful.   What Amprey does •     Raises pH •     Creates reducing conditions •     Reduces Sulphate → Sulphide •     Reduces Nitrate → Ammonia •     Co-precipitates, coagulates   Why is Amprey Useful Amprey is a simple, compact, and practical up flow electrochemical cell that functions irrespective of the conductivity of mine water. Amprey’s removal of dissolved metals results in a small quantity of solid cake that is easy-to-dewater and is non-leachable (TCLP). Unlike lime or biological mine water treatment processes that stop working as temperatures approach freezing, Amprey operates at any temperature and at any scale.   To learn more about how Amprey can help your business, check out our website: https://lnkd.in/gyQArAbv or get in touch with us today 📨 info@waterstridertmt.com.   Stay tuned for insights on another one of waterStrider’s technology: Misty CO2™   #WaterTreatment #Sustainability #MiningIndustry" #waterStrider #cleantechnology #mining #innovation

  • Introducing Amprey™: the Swiss Army knife of mine water treatment! 🌊 Amprey™ efficiently removes dissolved metals, sulphates, and nitrates from mine water by forming hydroxides and sulphides. Amprey™ neutralizes acidic pH and removes dissolved metals and other constituents from mine water through the reduction, co-precipitation, and coagulation of contaminants. Customized for each mine's specific Contaminants of Concern (CoCs), Amprey™ features anode pellets made from steel, magnesium, or aluminium. These pellets dissolve with electrical power to provide treatment. They are periodically replaced with new pellets, a process that can be automated as Amprey™ operates with minimal electrical requirements. Electrical power can also be automated using a pH or a redox controller to streamline the treatment operations. Tune in next time to learn more about about what Amprey™ does and why it is useful.
