It was an exciting day for the Yaqwa team as we welcomed the HaiSea Wamis to Kitamaat Village yesterday. Crewed by an inspiring team of Haisla Nation members, including three generations of the Ross family, this voyage represents a major step forward for HaiSea Marine. By mid-August, HaiSea’s fleet will be fully operational in Haisla territory, supporting LNG carriers at LNG Canada’s new export facility. As Chief Crystal Smith, ICD.D noted, this achievement signifies “generational employment for our members, one of the greenest tugboat fleets in the world, and a culture that is diverse and inclusive.” Congratulations to everyone involved in this monumental milestone!
