YWCA Sharing Circle 🌟 Our Sharing Circles provide a safe and welcoming space for self-expression, connection, and growth. Here, residents come together to share their feelings, listen to one another, and build meaningful relationships rooted in trust and acceptance. Sharing Circles help foster confidence and self-esteem while reminding us that in a circle, we are all equal—no one above, no one below.

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers 🔴 Today, we honour the lives lost to violence and hate crimes against sex workers and stand in solidarity with sex workers, their families, friends, and advocates. No one should live in fear or be subjected to violence because of who they are or the work they do. Ending violence against sex workers requires challenging societal norms and fostering communities of support and respect. At YWCA Westman, we believe in safety, dignity, and equality for all individuals. Together, we can work toward a future where everyone is free from violence.

Human Rights Day – December 10 🌍 Today, we commemorate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted in 1948, which outlines the fundamental rights every person is entitled to. 2024 Theme: Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now This year’s theme highlights how human rights are essential for a peaceful, equal, and sustainable future. It’s a call to action to challenge hate, correct misinformation, and advocate for justice. As UN Secretary-General António Guterres says, "Human rights are the foundation for peaceful, just, and inclusive societies." 🔹 Speak up for equality. 🔹 Stand against hate. 🔹 Educate and advocate for human rights. Together, we can build a future where human rights are celebrated and protected for all.
