Alumin-Arte window wall, thermally broken aluminum. Located in the Texas hill country, this ranch design by LaRue Architects incorporates a lot of glass. Starting at the schematic stage, we worked with LaRue and contractor Austin Butler to assess wind loads, spans and exposures, design engineered custom tie back brackets and thermally broken reinforcement struts so the glazing runs uninterrupted on the outboard plan, still supported by the structure behind. Add in some swing doors, sliding doors and venting windows with screens - and you have collaboratively designed architectural fenestration in action.
