Captain Christina Thomson was not only an airline pilot and a tireless union representative working on behalf of her fellow pilots, she was also an inspiration to all women and girls that will follow in her footsteps. With her tragic passing, your ALPA Canada Officers, Captain Tim Perry (WestJet), Captain Rod Lypchuk (Jazz) and Captain Louis-Éric Mongrain (Air Transat), are committed to honoring Christina’s life and ensuring that her legacy can continue to inspire future generations. To that end, in the coming months, we will be working to establish a scholarship in Christina’s name that both reflects and promotes the values she embraced. In the meantime, Captain Perry, Captain Lypchuk, and Captain Mongrain have set up a personal GoFundMe page to accept donations from everyone interested in contributing towards a future scholarship bearing Capt. Christina Thomson’s name. This personal fundraising effort was created by the three of us as individuals who knew and loved Christina.
