The representative garden of the Edo period, Kenrokuen, along with Okayama's Korakuen and Mito's Kairakuen, are collectively known as Japan's three great gardens. The ropes tied in a triangle shape on the trees are called 'yukitsuri', a device to prevent snow from sticking to the branches and breaking them. After exploring the garden, there is also the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art nearby, where you can enjoy various spatial visual artworks, the most famous being the 'Swimming Pool' that gives the illusion of a dry swim.
