🌐 About 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝘁𝘆 (CP AoR) ▶️The CP AoR focuses on enhancing child protection in humanitarian contexts. We strive for well-coordinated efforts among national and international actors, ensuring children are safeguarded from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence. 🎯 Our Vision and Mission • Vision: A world where children in emergencies are shielded from harm. • Mission: To ensure effective coordination among humanitarian actors for the protection of children in crises. 🔍 Our Outcome We lead and coordinate child protection responses in humanitarian settings to achieve maximum coverage and quality, ensuring every child's safety and well-being. 🤝 Who We Are The CP AoR comprises humanitarian organizations dedicated to improving child protection responses in cluster and early warning contexts. Since 2007, we've grown inclusively, encompassing national and local entities in field-based coordination groups. 📜 Membership and Commitment • Eligibility: Open to organizations (not individuals), requiring a director's letter of commitment. • Responsibilities: • Uphold and promote CP AoR's principles, standards, and tools. • Actively participate in field-level child protection coordination. • Collaborate on alternative solutions when standard tools aren't suitable. • Contribute to and endorse group-produced inter-agency tools and resources. 📢 Welcoming Mr. Fletcher to His New Role as UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs On behalf of The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action and the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR), we warmly congratulate Tom Fletcher on assuming leadership at a pivotal time for the humanitarian movement. Children suffer first and most in crises, making every humanitarian crisis a child protection crisis. As such, we’ve shared key recommendations to ensure child protection is placed at the centre of humanitarian action. Our Recommendations Include: ✅ Making child protection a strategic priority in global advocacy and resource mobilisation. ✅ Ensuring IASC Principals and Humanitarian Coordinators prioritise child protection in policy decisions and throughout the humanitarian cycle. ✅ Upholding accountability to children through a child rights-based approach. 🌍 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 While progress has been made in integrating children and persons with disabilities into humanitarian efforts, we recognize there’s still much to do to ensure 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 and 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. This year, on the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, the Inter-Agency Disability Reference Group (https://lnkd.in/dZQ8Z9XZ) took a crucial step forward by launching the 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹/𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗣𝗗𝘀 (𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀). 🎯 Why does this matter? 𝟷𝟼 𝙳𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝙰𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚜𝚖 𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚝 𝙶𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛-𝙱𝚊𝚜𝚎𝚍 𝚅𝚒𝚘𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎 🌐 Eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls in the public and private spheres is one of the Sustainable Development Goals. 👫 The theme for this year's '16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence' calls on collective and joint efforts to continue to "𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬". 🖇️ For the child protection humanitarian sector, this also requires effective coordination and collaboration between the Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) actors. 📑 To learn more about how Child Protection and GBV coordination groups can collaborate to achieve better outcomes for children and adolescents and populations of concern in humanitarian settings, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gXuVWbb5 #16DaysOfActivisim #GenderBasedViolence #ChildProtection #Coordination
