This case study showcases the Huber Unistat® 510w’s ability to regulate process temperature in a 15-litre Buchi Glas Uster glass-lined reactor during a simulated 300W (258 kcal/hr) exothermic reaction. 🔬 The Challenge To evaluate the Unistat 510w’s ability to compensate for temperature fluctuations caused by an exothermic reaction and quickly return the process to its set-point. ⚙️ The Setup ✅ Unistat® 510w connected to a 15-litre glass-lined steel reactor ✅ 10 litres of M20.235.20 Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) ✅ Insulated metal hoses (2x1.5m) for efficient heat exchange ✅ Stirrer speed: 80 rpm 📊 The Results ✅ The 300W exothermic reaction raised the process temperature by 1.7 K ✅ The Unistat 510w compensated for the temperature rise in just 9 minutes ✅ Once the heater was removed, the process temperature dropped to 18.3°C ✅ The Unistat restored the process temperature to its set-point in 12 minutes ✅ Jacket temperature ramped >8 K/min to accelerate recovery With a temperature range of -50°C to 250°C, 5.3 kW cooling power at 0°C, and precise dynamic control, the Unistat 510w ensures stability in processes where temperature fluctuations must be managed rapidly and reliably.
