Focusing on economic tipping points is a useful lens for analyzing progress toward #climate goals. Climate techs need to become commercially competitive with incumbent technologies to become first-choice solutions. Their distance from these tipping points provides yardstick for progress towards rapid deployment. Several have passed or are near such points. But for most, tipping points lie beyond 2035 without policy intervention (such as carbon taxes). Shining light and color: the #UBSArtCollection showcase a new site-specific installation at our UK Headquarters. Commissioned by the UBS Art Collection, London-based artist Rana Begum has created a new installation which responds to and elevates the architecture of the UBS office in Broadgate, London. At over 9-meters in length, the artwork comprises of 26 brightly colored cloud-like forms suspended from the ceiling of the double height entrance to the building. UBS has successfully tested a blockchain-based cross-border payment as part of an experiment with the European Central Bank and Deutsche Bundesbank. Leveraging UBS digital cash, we explored the potential of using the Bundesbank’s Trigger Solution as a means for inter-bank settlement with Deutsche Bank. This is an important milestone in the exploration of blockchain as a suitable technology for the Eurozone to allow commercial banks to efficiently settle digital assets and blockchain-based payments via wholesale central bank money. #shareUBS
