Why is entity resolution/customer data matching a billion-dollar problem? Identity verification (IDV) providers often operate in fragmented, siloed ways with no standardized approach to collecting and verifying customer identity information. Each IDV provider relies on different data sources, data matching logic, and entity resolution techniques, leading to varying — and sometimes conflicting — views of the identities they are trying to resolve. This inconsistency creates significant challenges for businesses, who must piece together different responses from multiple IDV providers and attempt to make sense of the conflicting data. In addition, every time someone goes through onboarding with a different business, they face a completely different experience. They are forced to provide the same information again and endure the same friction. Onboarding friction represents $5 billion of missed business opportunities yearly. It's $5 billion in revenue businesses could be making if this problem didn't exist. Our decentralized ID technology addresses this via verifiable credentials. By enabling IDV providers and IAM systems to issue verifiable credentials, our solution helps them verify the same person across multiple businesses and/or siloed systems. These credentials confirm that a customer has already been verified, allowing businesses to only ask for missing information. Verifiable Credentials create a consistent view of the customer's identity, reducing onboarding friction and streamlining the verification process. No need for repetitive data entry, document submissions and conflicting identity information.

This is a fantastic partnership, Dock and Youverse are such a powerful combination, disrupting the landscape of identity technology. I'm thrilled to witness the birth of a pioneering solution that merges privacy-preserving identity credentials with privacy-preserving biometrics, made available at scale for any ecosystem. This partnership ensures all credentials are securely bound to biometric identifiers (meaning that digital identities are safe and secure with credentials only accessible to their owners) while ensuring each user is in full control of both their biographical and biometric data. If you want to learn more about what this means, check my article today on this: https://lnkd.in/db5uC3Cp Cheers Nick Lambert, Euan Miller, Richard Esplin and team!

I’m excited to announce Dock’s partnership with Youverse, a pioneer in privacy-preserving biometric solutions. Youverse is redefining biometric authentication with its innovative, decentralized, and zero-knowledge architecture. Unlike traditional centralized databases, Youverse’s approach eliminates the risks associated with storing sensitive biometric data in a single location. Their cutting-edge technology, independently certified as top-tier for accuracy by international benchmarks, ensures unmatched levels of privacy, accuracy, and trust. Using multi-party computation, biometrics are securely distributed across nodes and only reconstructed on the user’s device, enhancing both security and convenience. Through this partnership, Youverse will leverage Dock’s verifiable credential capabilities to empower relying parties within closed ecosystems to securely verify consumer data, ensuring that sensitive information remains under the sole control of its rightful owner. Any ecosystem participants using Dock will now be able to verify credential data that is biometrically bound to an individual’s unique biometric while never exposing biometric information which is securely owned by the user’s device. Together, Dock and Youverse are setting a new standard for secure, private, and user-controlled biometric authentication. Stay tuned as we work to revolutionize identity verification with our combined technologies.

For all those interested in DIGITAL IDENTITY that users can fully OWN and CONTROL, I really recommend you register for this live event online on Dec 5. See you there! Moderated by Nick Lambert from Dock, I'll be joined by Paul Kenny from Daon, to discuss the importance of biometric-bound verifiable #credentials. Register here: https://lnkd.in/etiiWnrj My thesis in a nutshell is that: 👉 only by binding verifiable credentials to its owner through biometrics, can we be sure that credentials cannot be used by the wrong person 👈 Verifiable credentials are the only way forward in identity that is truly privacy-preserving. However, although native mobile biometrics is a great way to protect the content of your digital identity wallet from attackers, it does nothing to ensure an attacker can only add to their own wallet credentials that actually belong to them. So we need more. In this live event, I'll be discussing the power of biometrically binding verifiable credentials to users for maximum impersonation protection. If you'd like a bit of context ahead of the event, check my latest article here on LinkedIn. My heartfelt thanks to Nick Lambert for the invitation and to all the Dock.io team for creating the conditions for this event, in particular Euan Miller and Francisco Baptista.
