We are honored to win the AVETH - Academic Association of Scientific Staff at ETH Zurich Diversity Award! 🎉 This recognition helps EquipSent gain visibility at ETH Zürich, which is vital for securing equipment donations and raising awareness about global inequalities in access to scientific education. EquipSent works toward global scientific inclusion by donating equipment to enable experimental education for those who need it most. 💡 You can support our mission by donating unused lab equipment, spreading the word, or volunteering with us. Thank you to the jury and everyone who nominated us for this honor! And a special thanks to the ETH Student Project House for their support and for creating this beautiful trophy! 🏆

Enable Education Everywhere - with lab equipment shipments from Europe to low-income countries.
Info
In high-income countries, scientific equipment is often stored unused after its usage time in research laboratories. Older devices are eventually discarded, even though they are still functional. In low-income countries, schools and universities are lacking the funds to acquire exactly such devices for adequate training of talented students. The resulting “brain-drain” to other countries hinders the self-development in such regions. EquipSent seeks to bridge these two worlds by directly matching donors of scientific equipment with those in need. As an intermediary between both parties, we reduce administrative effort and help organize the shipping, installation and legal contracting. Expenses will be covered to a minor, affordable extent by the recipient, and majorly by industrial sponsors in return of CSR, new markets and advertisement.

For some time now, we’ve been working on a special project: designing and producing the Diversity Award for the Diversity Award Ceremony. On Tuesday, the big day finally arrived! We had the honor of not only unveiling the award but also celebrating the incredible individuals and teams recognized for their commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive community. 🫂 This year, the Individual Award was presented to Victoria Herbig, whose story deeply moved us all. Victoria has demonstrated extraordinary resilience in challenging a patriarchal study environment and has been a tireless advocate for equality in STEM fields. Her unwavering commitment serves as an inspiration to break barriers and pave the way for future generations. 💪 The Team Award was presented to EquipSent, an inspiring project that began within our SPH community. EquipSent breathes new life into unused equipment, sending it to institutions where it can make a world of difference. Their mission to "enable education, everywhere" is not only transforming lives but also ensuring that everyone has the right to access quality education, regardless of their background or location. 🙌 We also want to celebrate everyone who was nominated. Your efforts, big and small, are paving the way for a better, more inclusive future. It’s not just the winners who inspire us—it’s every single one of you who stands up for what’s right and makes a difference in the lives of others. 💛 A heartfelt thank you goes to Serena Stefanoni, who designed the beautiful award, to Jannes W., who brought it to life with his craftsmanship, and to Azrahan Van den Berg, who coordinated everything seamlessly. Your dedication and creativity made this project truly special. This ceremony reminded us of the power of kindness, empathy, and collaboration. Let’s keep celebrating the beauty of our differences and supporting one another in building a community where everyone belongs. Thank you all for inspiring us to dream bigger and do better—here’s to many more moments of recognition and celebration!
