Een nieuwe toekomst voor de Abdij van Brecht: Harmonie tussen traditie, natuur en innovatie De Abdij O.L. Vrouw van Nazareth in Brecht ondergaat een prachtige transformatie. Met respect voor haar spirituele erfgoed en architecturale waarde wordt de abdij heringericht om een duurzamer en compacter leefmodel te creëren. Traditie en innovatie gaan hier hand in hand. De renovatie – onder begeleiding van Architects in Motion – brengt drie ‘kringen’ samen: De binnenste kring: De zusters blijven het kloppend hart van de abdij, met een heringerichte leefruimte rondom het pandhof en een compacter kerkgebouw. De tweede kring: Het gastenhuis blijft een plek voor bezinning en krijgt mogelijk een functie voor religieuze co-housing. De buitenste kring: De abdij wordt toegankelijker met een uitnodigend paviljoen en een vernieuwde abdijwinkel. Duurzaamheid staat centraal: geothermische warmtepompen, zonnepanelen, vloerisolatie en waterrecuperatie dragen bij aan een circulair en toekomstbestendig model. De Abdij van Brecht bewijst dat erfgoed en modernisering perfect samengaan. Een plek waar rust, spiritualiteit en duurzaamheid samenkomen. Wat vind jij van deze aanpak?
