HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, inaugurates RAK Energy Summit 2024, sharing his vision for a sustainable future and Ras Al Khaimah's pivotal role in advancing energy and environmental innovation. “Energy is central to our lives and our economy and, without it, we can neither survive nor thrive. It is, therefore, imperative that we build a future in which energy is readily available, reliable, affordable and, crucially, sustainable. “In Ras Al Khaimah, we are making our Emirate sustainable in every sense of the word. We recognise that energy is the essential enabler of this transformation, and we aspire to be at the forefront of global developments in the future of a sustainable energy sector.” #rakenergysummit #connect #create #contribute #efficientrak #rasalkhaimah #energyefficiency #sustainability #EERstrategy2040 #energytransition #rakretrofit #evrak #greenmobility #energymanagement #rakgoessolar #energysustainability #reem #rak #netzero

Are you in Singapore next week and into The Future of Food, Horticulture, and/or Education? Come find us either at the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia or at the College of Design & engineering of National University of Singapore. Together with Meiny Prins, we're hosting a lecture on November 20 to onboard students and educators on Food Producing Cities and Branding & Storytelling.  Next year, we co-host a Master project around the same topic: From Brownfields, to Greengrounds. Transforming underutilized spaces into resilient food ecosystems. Many thanks to Cees de Bont and Karin Aue for making this happen! We’ll be there from Monday 18 Nov to Thursday 21 Nov. Let’s connect and grab a coffee if you’re interested! --- Some background and contextual info for the experts on topics like these :): Greengrounds transforms underutilized urban spaces into productive and sustainable food hubs, focusing on circular food systems by partnering with entrepreneurs, governments, and engineers. In Singapore, Greengrounds supports the ’30 by 30′ initiative, which aims to produce 30% of the nation’s food locally by 2030, despite only 1% of land being available for farming. This sharing session and discussion will delve into the Greengrounds brand & storytelling, approach, team and Greengrounds' contribution to the sustainable agrifood masterplan in Lim Chu Kang, highlighting its role in addressing urban food security, sustainability, and wider community aspects. Possible projects that could follow from this session are aimed at addressing and emphasizing the demand side of the masterplan:  - How can food hubs be key parts of a city’s ecosystem, supporting food security, social connections, and environmental sustainability? - How can we create food hubs that become vibrant community gathering spots? - How do our daily food habits reflect our deepest values? How can we respect these traditions when introducing new food systems? - How can we tell the story of each product, from farm to table, in a way that makes each purchase meaningful? - What new ways can we find to distribute products from food hubs, ensuring they reach those who need them most while staying true to their local roots?
