As the world’s population ages, ensuring equitable access to #vaccines has never been more urgent. While childhood vaccination programs have been the cornerstone of global health, we must now broaden our focus to include a comprehensive, life-course #immunization strategy that addresses the needs of all age groups. In her latest article, Laetitia Agostini Bigger, IFPMA Director of Vaccines Policy, highlights the importance of collaboration between governments, health care providers, and the vaccine industry to unlock the full potential of vaccines, bolstering vaccine awareness, accessibility, and uptake. 🤝 With a robust vaccine development pipeline consisting of over 100 promising vaccine candidates, many targeting adults, we’re on the brink of innovations that can transform public health. 🔙 #Throwback 2024 was a landmark year for #GlobalHealth, with significant progress in addressing antimicrobial resistance (#AMR), highlighted by the #UNGA79 and the United Nations High-Level Meeting (HLM) on AMR this past September. To mark this moment and drive multistakeholder dialogues, we convened the global health community in New York during the AMR HLM. IFPMA's Director General, Dr David Reddy reaffirmed the industry's dedication to fostering partnerships to combat AMR and tackle other urgent global health challenges. It was also inspiring to hear from Anil Soni, Chief Executive Officer of the WHO Foundation, as he delivered his keynote address. He shared insights on the critical role of pharmaceutical innovation and collaboration in addressing the most pressing health challenges of our time. 📌 Looking ahead, the global health agenda in 2025 will focus on non-communicable diseases (#NCDs). The industry remains committed to working collaboratively to ensure that these diseases are effectively addressed at global, regional, and national levels.
