Sexual harassment is unacceptable anywhere in the world of work. Period. Millions of workers worldwide continue to face violence and harassment, with their safety, dignity, and fundamental human rights under constant threat. This demands immediate, collective action. ILO Convention 190 offers a powerful, comprehensive framework to eliminate workplace violence globally. It's more than a policy - it's a transformative strategy for creating safe, respectful work environments that protect every worker's fundamental right to dignity. Now is the time to move from awareness to action. We must: 🔹Recognize the challenge 🔹Implement robust prevention strategies 🔹Support survivors 🔹Hold perpetrators accountable No more silence. No more excuses. ✊ Join the global movement: #NoExcuse #RatifyC190 #16Days

Human development is at the heart of climate action and just transition. During Human Development Day at COP29 Azerbaijan, Mia Seppo led the ILO delegation in High-Level events to highlight the need for integration of skills in climate policies and early investment in skills development. A major outcome of these events: representatives of international organisations, multilateral development banks, and international climate and environmental funds endorsed the Baku Initiative on Human Development for Climate Resilience and issued a joint statement. The Baku Initiative seeks to enhance cooperation between these organisations and bridge global efforts to address climate change impacts on human development and facilitate climate finance and embedding human centered approach to climate resilience strategies. 🌍 Reflecting on Human Development Day: A Focus on People-Centered Climate Action 🌱 On Human Development Day (November 18) at COP29, the International Labour Organization (ILO) joined forces with UNICEF, UNESCO, World Health Organization, and the COP29 Azerbaijan Presidency to shape the transformative Baku Initiative on Human Development for Climate Resilience. This collaboration resulted in a joint statement endorsing the Baku Guiding Principles, backed by a diverse group of key global partners, including: Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), IOM - UN Migration, The Global Fund, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Green Climate Fund (GCF), Adaptation Fund, UN Women and the UNIDO. 📄 Read the full joint statement here: https://buff.ly/48YoMIO The day highlighted the critical need to place human development at the core of climate action, with a particular focus on children and youth. The ILO actively contributed to two key events: - Morning High-Level Meeting: Addressing intersectoral synergies across education, health, social protection, skills, and jobs. - Afternoon Roundtable: Supporting Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in hosting a high-level tripartite discussion on green jobs and skills. Key Takeaways: 1️⃣ Scale up investments to accelerate green transitions. 2️⃣ Align policies for cohesive and impactful outcomes. 3️⃣ Focus on future skills needs and foster global collaboration through the exchange of good practices. Together, we’re advancing just transitions and creating sustainable opportunities for a resilient future. 🌟 Mia Seppo Olga Strietska-Ilina Photo credits: COP29 organizing committee #GreenJobs #SkillsForClimateAction #JustTransition #HumanDevelopment #COP29
