In 2024, Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich (represented by Ralph Rosenbauer) had the privilege of supporting and co-organizing 10 Zurich Hardware Meetups in collaboration with Rayan Armani. Six of these events took place on our campus in the Event Hangar.   The meetups covered a diverse range of topics, from #MedTech, #3DPrinting, #Drones, to #HeavyConstructionMachinery.   One of the unique aspects of this series is the variety of venues: Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich, Bluelion Incubator, ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, ETH Feasibility Lab, and ETH Student Project House. This diversity not only introduced participants to exciting new locations but also helped our community grow with each event. We’re proud to have grown our community to over 500 members within one year! Other aspects that makes this event unique is the "Open Mic" slots open to anyone who wants to share more about their work, ideas and aspirations, the food and drinks afterwards leading to useful networking.   A particular highlight was our event at the Immersive Art Lab of ZHDK, where the fascinating intersection of hardware, art, and culture was explored. Throughout the year, pressing sustainability issues were also addressed and integrated into various discussions across our hardware meetup series.   To wrap up the year, we treated ourselves to a bit of relaxation: after Nikolai Knopp ’s insightful talk on preserving vintage computer hardware, participants enjoyed playing classic computer games on historical machines, provided by Retro Game Level 1-1. An der diesjährigen Formnext - Where ideas take shape gab es mit dem SWISS Pavilion zum ersten Mal einen Gemeinschaftsstand von Schweizer Firmen. Der Stand wurde von der SAMG von Swissmem initiiert und in Zusammenarbeit mit den Verantwortlichen der AM Expo realisiert. Ziel des Gemeinschaftsstandes war es, den Schweizer Unternehmen eine attraktive Plattform zur Präsentation ihrer Angebote entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette der Additiven Fertigung zu bieten. Lucas Marugg wurde für seine Bachelorarbeit «Herstellung und Charakterisierung von SLS-Pulvern» von der Swiss Additive Manufacturing Group (SAMG) der Swissmem mit einem Best Student Thesis Award ausgezeichnet! 🎓👏   Seine Arbeit am IWK der OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule hat einen innovativen Ansatz für die Entwicklung neuer Kunststoffpulver für den industriellen 3D-Druck verfolgt. Bei uns im Techpark gab es einen Umzug: Eine unserer ENGEL-Spritzgiessmaschinen wurde durch ein neues Modell ersetzt! 🚚🔧   Die neue ENGEL ist für das Thermoplastschaumspritzgiessen inklusive MuCell-Technologie der Firma Trexel ausgerüstet. DE: Gestern durften wir die Projektpartner des Innosuisse Flagship Zeropol - Towards Net Zero Plastics Industry für das 2. Consortium Meeting am Campus Rapperswil-Jona der OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule begrüssen.   Der Schwerpunkt lag auf dem Austausch zwischen den Projektpartnern. Während der Poster-Präsentation wurden die Fortschritte der verschiedenen Teilprojekte und Fokusthemen präsentiert und die Projektpartner hatten die Möglichkeit, Einblicke in andere Arbeiten zu erhalten. Am Nachmittag stand ausserdem ein Besuch im IWK-Techpark auf dem Programm, bei dem wir unsere Räumlichkeiten und Labore vorstellen durften.   Herzlichen Dank für den Besuch bei uns und den wertvollen Austausch. --------------------------------------- EN: Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming the project partners of the Innosuisse Flagship Zeropol - Towards Net Zero Plastics Industry to the 2nd Consortium Meeting at the Campus Rapperswil-Jona of the OST - Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences. The meeting focussed on the exchange between the project partners. During the poster session, the progress of the various sub-projects and focus topics was presented and the project partners had the opportunity to gain insights into other activities. The afternoon programme also included a visit to the IWK Techpark, where we were able to present our premises and laboratories.
