Info
Lung Cancer Europe is the voice of lung cancer patients, their families and survivors at a European level. LuCE provides a European platform for already existing lung cancer patient advocacy groups and supports the establishment of national lung cancer patient groups in different European countries where such groups do not yet exist. LuCE aims to raise awareness about inequities regarding the access to lung cancer treatment and care in Europe. Moreover, it advocates European policies that will lead to improvements in lung cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and care. LuCE also supports national lung cancer patient groups in helping raise awareness for lung cancer among the European public.

Cancer biomarker testing: a simplified guide The fifth video from Thermo Fisher Scientific explains biomarker testing which involves analysing tumour samples to identify specific biomarkers. These can help doctors make more accurate diagnoses and treatment decisions. The two main types of tests used to identify cancer mutations are: single biomarker testing, which examines one biomarker at a time, and multiple biomarker testing, which analyses several biomarkers simultaneously for more comprehensive results. All five videos can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dWr2DVXs Note that these videos are for edcuation purposes only. In the fourth of our 'Simplified Guide' videos from Thermo Fisher Scientific, the difference between hereditary and sporadic cancer is explained. Hereditary cancers result from inherited genetic mutations, though having the mutation increases the risk but does not determine cancer development. Sporadic cancers, however, develop from random mutations caused by aging, environmental factors, or lifestyle choices. #biomarkertesting #cancer #cancercare #LuCE #LungCancerEurope #LCSM #cancerawareness #cancerresearch #testing #research

The third video from the educational series on cancer biomarker testing by Thermo Fisher Scientific is called 'Exploring different types of cancer mutations: a simplified guide'. Not all mutations causing cancer are the same. There are different types, such as substitutions, insertions, deletions, copy number variations and gene fusions. Analyzing these mutations through biomarker testing is important for accurate diagnosis and informed treatment decisions. This series of five videos - which we are presenting this week - has been created to help patients and caregivers understand biomarker testing and is endorsed by Lung Cancer Europe. #biomarkertesting #cancer #cancercare #LuCE #LungCancerEurope #LCSM #cancerawareness #cancerresearch #testing #research
