Wondering what child-lens investing is all about? Read this article in Philanthropy Age!
What if we could develop a new approach to investing that explicitly considered the impact on children? This is exactly what child-lens investing is designed to do. The framework screens potential investments to understand if a company’s product or service has a clear, positive impact on children, potential for scaling, and the commitment of a company to child rights business principles. Post-investment, the child-lens investing framework provides a child-centred approach to impact measurement and management. Interested? See this article in Philanthropy Age. Preeth Gowdar Sandeep A. Today we officially launched Save the Children Global Ventures Nature-based Solutions for Children (NbS4C) initiative. We are exploring the potential of carbon markets to sustainably support triple-bottom-line NbS projects delivering benefits for children, climate and the environment. The launch was held at the Accelerating NbS Conference in Zambia - in a river-boat on the Zambezi river. We heard from Levy, a local youth climate advocate from Environment Africa Zambia, about how the climate crisis is affecting him and what he would liek to see change. As well as from Pallab Regmi, Climate Change Advisor Nepal CO on our first NbS project, improved cookstoves in Nepal, Phil Ireland CEO of Carbon Neutral about how they are partnering with us to make this happen, and from local staff from Save the Children Zambia.
