Join us for the next event on Thursday, 17 October 2024, at Villa Principe Leopoldo in Lugano. The conference will offer a comprehensive exploration of two critical mechanisms in #trust #administration and #dispute #resolution: 🔹 #Supervisory #Jurisdiction in Trusts: A fundamental concept in both common law and civil law jurisdictions, supervisory jurisdiction ensures judicial oversight over trust administration, providing trustees with guidance, protecting beneficiaries, and resolving complex trust disputes. Our expert speakers will examine its historical origins, practical scope, and current applications across multiple legal systems. 🔹 #Arbitration in Trusts: As an increasingly popular alternative to litigation, arbitration in trust disputes offers a confidential, efficient, and flexible means of resolving contentious matters. The conference will explore key issues such as the arbitrability of trust disputes, enforceability of arbitration clauses, and practical experiences from international case law. Our distinguished panel of speakers includes leading voices in trust and arbitration law: 🎤 Dr. Daniel Clarry (Gerard Brennan Chambers, Brisbane) Supervisory Jurisdiction in Common Law: Origin, Scope, and Nature 🎤 David Wallace Wilson (Schellenberg Wittmer, Geneve) Supervisory Jurisdiction in Civil Law: Switzerland 🎤 Andrea Vicari (Vicari Avvocati, Milan) Supervisory Jurisdiction in Civil Law: Italy and San Marino Arbitrability and Arbitration Clauses: Issues under Italian and San Marino Law 🎤 Francesco A. Schurr (Universität Liechtenstein, Vaduz) Supervisory Jurisdiction in Civil Law: Liechtenstein 🎤 Andrea Moja (SLCLEX, Milan) Legal Practice in Arbitration in Estate Planning 🎤 Werner Jahnel and Sébastien Zulian (LALIVE, Zurich and Geneve) Trust and Estate Arbitration in Switzerland: Update and Recent Experiences The conference will be moderated by Filippo Turato, Chairman of STEP Lugano, and Andrea Vicari, Education Officer of STEP Lugano. 📅 Date: 17 October 2024 📍 Venue: Villa Principe Leopoldo, Lugano 🕑 Time: 10:00 - 17:00 🖥️ Online attendance available With a focus on both the legal theory and practical application of supervisory jurisdiction and arbitration in trusts, this conference promises to provide attendees with invaluable insights and strategies for handling trust-related matters in both domestic and international contexts. 🔗 Register here (https://lnkd.in/e8RUFf_K) STEP – Advising Families Across Generations | Verein STEP | STEP Lugano | STEP Zurich | STEP Vaduz | Liechtenstein | STEP Geneva | STEP Basel | Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) - Lausanne Branch | STEP Italy #Trusts #SupervisoryJurisdiction #Arbitration #TrustDisputes #STEP #EstatePlanning #Lugano #Conference #Networking

*** The changes to the status and tax regime for non-domiciled residents ("res-non-dom") in the United Kingdom, as outlined in the Spring Budget 2024, are set to impact approximately 55,000 High Net Worth Individuals (HNW). For Switzerland and our Canton, this measure could present a significant opportunity to attract affluent clients. This topic was discussed by several experts at a conference organized by Centro Studi Villa Negroni in collaboration with STEP Lugano, as reported today in an article published by Corriere del Ticino. The round table was moderated by Alfonso Rivolta, Group Head Wealth Solutions at PKB Private Bank.
