The Evolution of Sports & Wellness Wearables in Healthcare Wearable technology has transformed the fitness and wellness industry, and it's now making significant strides in healthcare. Originally, wearables focused on tracking basic metrics like steps, heart rate, and calories burned. But the industry has expanded, incorporating advanced sensors and AI-driven analytics that enable real-time health insights, chronic disease management, and even early disease detection. ✅ Today’s sports and wellness wearables go beyond fitness, providing valuable health data that can support medical professionals in diagnosing and monitoring conditions. For instance, continuous heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring has proven beneficial for cardiovascular patients, while smartwatches with ECG features offer individuals at risk for arrhythmias an added layer of security. Additionally, these devices promote patient engagement, helping individuals take charge of their health through accessible, personalized insights. However, for wearables to truly integrate with healthcare systems, data privacy, accuracy, and interoperability must be prioritized. As this field develops, partnerships between tech innovators, medical professionals, and regulatory bodies will be essential to leverage wearables for preventive care and chronic disease management on a larger scale. ✅ The future of healthcare wearables is promising, with applications that extend from general wellness to supporting specific medical needs. With advancements in sensor technology, AI, and healthcare data security, wearables are set to become invaluable tools for both patients and healthcare providers alike. How can AI help prevention? At Vivactis, a highly specialized communication agency, active in European direct-to-patient communication among other areas, we believe that AI can directly contribute to engage, educate, and help patients in their healthcare journey and as well as enhance prevention in the following areas: ✔ Personalized Prevention: AI tailors prevention strategies using genomic and lifestyle data, promoting behavior modifications for better health. This is crucial for communicating personalized, actionable health advice directly to patients. ✔ Medication Adherence: AI-powered reminders and wearables help patients manage chronic diseases effectively. This aligns with patient engagement and communication around treatment adherence, a key area for patient-centric agencies like Vivactis ✔ Health Education: AI enhances public health literacy with personalized advice. Educating patients directly with AI-driven tools, such as patient-chatbots, can help improve their understanding of prevention and treatment options. ✔ Mental Health Monitoring: AI driven tools may help track signs of depression or anxiety and offer timely interventions. This point is critical for communicating mental health support and encouraging proactive patient involvement. ✔ And, finally, the patient coaching programs in which we are involved include more and more AI driven tools, helping patients get prepared more efficiently to surgeries and / or during their rehab. phase. At Vivactis, we believe in the value of these tools, provided they are managed (mastered?) by people who know what "a patient is", i.e. the healthcare professionals 🙂 Interested to hear more about our AI supported (not driven) #directtopatient communication programs? I was lucky enough to be invited to the inauguration of the #GenolierInnovationHub yesterday, representing Vivactis Group. I took a considerable number of photos of this fabulous place, but I'm only sharing the one below, as it illustrates what impressed me most about this hub, as a physician: the concrete link this hub establishes between R&D and the clinic, something totally unique here and elsewhere. Bravo to the Swiss Medical Network Team behind this project for understanding this enormous need, in our area and elswhere. It's open house at the hub this weekend, September 28 and 29. And it is certainly worth the visit. As a European medical education agency, no doubts we will be organizing some medical events there… For more photos: https://lnkd.in/eQikzVG2 #innovation #genolierinnovationhub #medicaleducation #healthvalley

A short update on perioperative patient coaching programs... Perioperative patient coaching programs are a game-changer in healthcare. They empower patients with the knowledge and tools to navigate surgery with confidence, reduce anxiety, and improve recovery outcomes. By... ✔ fostering communication ✔ enhancing patient engagement and promoting better preparation ✔ streamlining and standardizing admin. and care processes (pain management, mobilization, rehabilitation, etc.) ...these programs can lead to fewer complications, shorter hospital stays, faster returns to normal life and increased patient satisfaction. A win-win for both patients and healthcare providers! An example in bariatric surgery: https://lnkd.in/efacwZzV Vivactis Switzerland has some experience in the implementation and coordination of such programs, particularly in adding some innovative digital tools (e.g. in patient education). More info, please contact us: info@vivactis.ch

Digital Therapeutics: The Future of Personalized, Accessible Healthcare... Digital therapeutics (DTx) refers to software-driven treatments that deliver evidence-based interventions to prevent, manage, or treat medical conditions. These therapies are often used in conjunction with medications or as stand-alone solutions, focusing on behavioral, mental health, and chronic disease management. DTx leverages technologies like 📌 mobile apps, 📌 AI, and 📌 wearable/connected devices to personalize care and provide real-time feedback to patients. In the future, digital therapeutics is expected to revolutionize healthcare by making treatments more accessible, improving patient adherence, and lowering costs. By collecting vast amounts of health data, DTx can enable more precise, individualized care, reduce hospital readmissions, and enhance preventive medicine. This shift could democratize access to high-quality healthcare, especially for those in remote or underserved areas, ultimately improving patient outcomes on a global scale.
