🌱 Shaping the Future of Bioeconomy Education in the BIOEAST Macro-Region 🌍 On 20th November, policymakers, academic leaders, and youth ambassadors gathered in Brussels for a high-level workshop titled “Bioeconomy Education to Enable the Transition to a Competitive, Regenerative, and Fair (Bio)Economy”. Hosted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, the event tackled the challenges and opportunities for bioeconomy education in Central and Eastern Europe. Highlights included: ✔️ Updates on European bioeconomy policies ✔️ Breakout sessions on vocational education & training ✔️ A youth-led vision for advancing bioeconomy education Dr. Barna Kovács, Secretary-General of the BIOEAST Initiative, emphasized the need to: 1️⃣ Strengthen governance and cross-sector collaboration 2️⃣ Tailor education to the BIOEAST region’s socio-economic needs 3️⃣ Enhance awareness and workforce training through BIOEAST UniNet The workshop concluded with remarks by MEP Norbert Lins and a ceremony for the Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors.
