NEW PROJECT: CLIMove - Co-creating Climate and Mobility Sustainability 🌍🚲 Last month, as the CDV - Transport Research Centre, the secretariat of the CIVINET CZ SK network, we officially launched the two-year international project #climove, which aims to link climate goals with sustainable urban mobility. As part of the project, we will help cities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina accelerate their transition to a climate-neutral future. Funded by European Climate Initiative (EUKI) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, we are implementing the project together with ODRAZ-Sustainable Community Development (Zagreb, 🇭🇷) and Centar za životnu sredinu/Center for Environment (Banja Luka, 🇧🇦). The first #PartnerMeeting has already been successfully held! We presented the plan of activities, agreed on the project's visual identity and agreed on the first steps of cooperation. 💡 What are the main activities of CLIMove? ✅ Workshops and training for public administrations on climate-neutral mobility according to EU targets ✅ Summer schools for young professionals focusing on innovative mobility solutions. ✅ Study visits and conferences with examples of good practice from across Europe. ✅ Raising awareness on climate-neutral urban planning, capacity building and improving sustainable mobility strategies. 🎉 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧 𝗖𝘇𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘀! A big 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to everyone who joined us last Thursday and Friday in marking this important milestone! The conference 𝘊𝘐𝘝𝘐𝘕𝘌𝘛 𝘟: 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘜𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 was a unique opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past decade and discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead in sustainable mobility🌍 The first day of the event took place in the inspiring premises of Brno Observatory and Planetarium offered two parallel program sessions that showcased contributions from member cities, inspiring insights from other CIVINETs and various experts and practitioners from Czechia, Slovakia and abroad. The day concluded with a side program featuring a projection of the documentary #Brno360 and an evening reception for network members and speakers. On the second day continued at CDV - Transport Research Centre with an in-depth program covering national perspectives on sustainable urban mobility, innovative approaches to parking, and urban logistics challenges such as efficient last-mile delivery. The anniversary conference was special for us in all respects. In addition to our network, we were pleased to welcome representatives from the following CIVINET networks: CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-South East Europe, CIVINET Greece-Cyprus , CIVINET Ukraine, CIVINET Iberia, CIVINET Polska, #CIVINET #Magyar (Mobilissimus) as well as colleagues from Mobiel 21/CIVITAS Initiative. Just one day before the conference, 11 CIVINET Secretariats met at the CDV - Transport Research Centre for the 𝘊𝘐𝘝𝘐𝘕𝘌𝘛 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮 2024 workshop, which provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation, identify synergies and develop strategic plans for the coming year🤝 The CIVINET X Conference, which was held under the auspices of the Mayor of Brno, Markéta Vaňková, would not have been possible without the support of our partners. Thank you to the City of #Brno for their partnership, and to our sponsors FAIRTIQ and SocGeoStudio. Last but not least, to our CDV - Transport Research Centre for introducing its activities for cities and its support in the conference organization. Over the past decade, the CIVINET CZ SK network has grown in both membership and the strength of our collaborations and friendships. Yesterday's seminar in Tábor brought a lot of inspiration and lessons learned on the topic of traffic calming and parking policies!  🚗 The event brought together representatives of Czech and Slovak cities to hear speakers who presented their experiences with the harmonisation of public space and parking in Město Jindřichův Hradec or the development of parking systems in České Budějovice, Statutární město Jihlava and Brno.   In a short workshop activity focused on the use of parking to control traffic demand and encourage sustainable mobility, participants identified the most urgent problems they need to solve in their city and the existing barriers. The day was rounded off with a guided tour with the head of the department of the Office of the City Architect of Tábor, which gave us an insight into the town's parking system. Thanks to all participants for their active participation and insightful discussions! We look forward to the next event – the opportunity to meet will be in 14 days at the CIVINET X conference in Brno or on 10 December in Liberec - Statutární Město.
