Have you ever seen Santa's village?🎅👀 In northern Finland lies Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and a popular gateway to the Arctic. Known as the official hometown of Santa Claus, it attracts visitors year-round, providing unique experiences such as crossing the Arctic Circle, staying in glass igloos, and viewing the Northern Lights. 🧊 Rovaniemi is also rich in natural beauty, surrounded by forests, lakes, and rivers, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and dog sledding. ⛷️ This false-colour image of Rovaniemi was produced with the data acquired by Copernicus's #Sentinel2 on 19 April 2024.

EUSPA expands its role as EGNOS EDAS Provider EUSPA continues to strengthen its role as a cornerstone of Europe’s space infrastructure. Building on its established role as the Galileo Services Provider, it has now expanded its responsibilities by taking on the EGNOS Data Access Service (EDAS) Provider role. This expansion centralises key services, enhancing user experience across multiple sectors within the European Global Navigation Satellite System (E-GNSS). By broadening its capabilities, EUSPA is ensuring that Europe remains at the forefront of satellite navigation technology and offering improved access to critical data. PEFC and EUSPA collaborate to advance EO and Copernicus solutions for sustainable forestry On 7th November, EUSPA, in collaboration with PEFC International, hosted an online workshop to explore how Earth Observation (EO) and Copernicus can support sustainable forestry practices. Ahead of the workshop, EUSPA and PEFC identified key areas where EO can play a major role, such as carbon accounting and deforestation assessment. During the event, EO companies demonstrated how Copernicus and EO-based services could address these challenges, showcasing their capabilities over real-world forestry plots. A key takeaway was the demonstrated potential of Copernicus as a powerful enabler of EO-based solutions, providing a strong foundation for analysis and future advancements with in-situ data and higher-resolution imagery. #EUSpace https://lnkd.in/e6frtXTp
