#science #strategy #ISTAC 💥 The ELI - Extreme Light Infrastructure International Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (ISTAC) convened at the ELI ALPS Research Institute this week, led by newly elected Chair roger falcone (University of California, Berkeley) and Vice-chair Thomas Tschentscher (European XFEL). ▶️ The ISTAC, composed of 15 experts, serves as an independent advisory body to the ELI ERIC General Assembly (GA) and Management.  ▶️By offering impartial advice, the ISTAC plays a critical role in advancing ELI ERIC’s scientific objectives, such as the Joint User Programme. “We’re pleased to welcome the new members of the ISTAC and introduce them to the ongoing developments at ELI ERIC,” said Andrew Harrison, ELI ERIC Director of Science. “Their combined expertise will benefit ELI and lead us through pivotal advancements, ensuring that our Facilities remain at the forefront of scientific discovery and provide meaningful contributions to the global scientific community.” Read more 👇 https://bit.ly/4eCsauf

#Bavaria #visit #usercommunity 👉 ELI - Extreme Light Infrastructure welcomed Tobias Gotthardt, the State Secretary of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, and Bernard Bauer, the CEO of the German-Czech Chamber of Industry and Commerce. 💥 The visit underscored the already strong ties between ELI and Germany, particularly the user community based in Bavaria around Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. LMU contributed to ELI as part of the preparatory phase and also a very active participator in the ELI User Programme. Discussions revolved around strengthening the link across research, education, and industry, and the scientific focus areas of Fusion and Medical applications.
