On the 20th of November we held in Prague together with the Prague Finance Institute an event at Archa Palac (Zenwork). Maros Kravec and Tomas Somogyi opened the event and Martin Ehl gently moderated both panel sessions: Michal Prause, Jakub Kučera and Tomas Horacek discussed broadly the transformation and opportunities of Ukraine's #energystrategy. Followed by Václav Kallus, Václav Lídl, Benjamin Ziga and Petr Krumphanzl which addressed the post-war economic #recovery and long term #outlook for #Ukraine Thank you all very much for your participation !! 🌍 The ReBuild Ukraine fair, with exhibitors and delegations from 32 countries, has concluded, delivering valuable insights and updates on Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction. ⚡ The energy conference on day two featured strategic leaders, including Oleg Pavlenko, CIO at NPC UKRENERGO, who outlined a new strategy focused on decentralizing energy resources. Vitaly Butenko, CEO of Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU), emphasized the resilience of Ukraine’s energy market, which continued to operate under immense pressure. A key takeaway: Ukraine has immediate potential for up to 6 GW of new wind capacity and critical needs for 2.4 GW in grid rebalancing or 2 GW in energy storage systems. 💡 Equally valuable were workshops led by European Commission representatives, focusing on private equity, energy, and war risk insurance. Panels expertly moderated by Orest Tokač and Charles-Antoine de Crombrugghe offered great insights into the Ukraine Facility and EU support of up to EUR 9.3 billion, with part of the funds earmarked for private equity. Day one at ReBuild Ukraine was inspiring. Together with Dennis Ritsema, we gathered valuable insights underscoring the strong interest from institutions and investors in Ukraine's reconstruction and future. Today's energy conference brought together Ukrainian representatives, international organizations, and insightful discussions with notable guests, including German Galushchenko, Ukraine's Minister of Energy, and Terje Aasland, Norway’s Minister of Energy. The commitment of these leaders, along with many others, to restoring Ukraine’s power grid is essential, especially with winter approaching. The conference also highlighted new initiatives for private investors, with Anna Jarosz-Friis (European Commission) capturing the mission best: “It is an investment in a future EU member.” Energy investment is central to Ukraine's rebuild, with key presentations by Agnes Dasewicz, Head of Investments at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) on new programs and by Yuliia Kyian and Nataliya Boyko on the scope of infrastructure loss. EBRD's Grzegorz Zielinski highlighted their collaboration with a leading German solar developer, while Oleksii Sobolev, CFA from Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy emphasized their readiness to partner with energy investors. Last week Petr Krumphanzl and Dennis Ritsema attended the European Ukrainian Energy Day from the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency in Vienna. #Renewable #energy #developers were present such as Nadiia Petruchenko from SPP Development Ukraine and Yuri Kubrushko from IMEPOWER and Victoria Pysmenna from Elementum Energy . The 13th and the 14th of November Dennis Ritsema and Tomas Somogyi will be attending ReBuild Ukraine in Warsaw. Establishing new connections with investors, developers and governmental organisations.
