🌍 The ReBuild Ukraine fair, with exhibitors and delegations from 32 countries, has concluded, delivering valuable insights and updates on Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction. ⚡ The energy conference on day two featured strategic leaders, including Oleg Pavlenko, CIO at NPC UKRENERGO, who outlined a new strategy focused on decentralizing energy resources. Vitaly Butenko, CEO of Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU), emphasized the resilience of Ukraine’s energy market, which continued to operate under immense pressure. A key takeaway: Ukraine has immediate potential for up to 6 GW of new wind capacity and critical needs for 2.4 GW in grid rebalancing or 2 GW in energy storage systems. 💡 Equally valuable were workshops led by European Commission representatives, focusing on private equity, energy, and war risk insurance. Panels expertly moderated by Orest Tokač and Charles-Antoine de Crombrugghe offered great insights into the Ukraine Facility and EU support of up to EUR 9.3 billion, with part of the funds earmarked for private equity. Similar support is planned from the The World Bank, IFC - International Finance Corporation, EBRD, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, and European Investment Bank (EIB). 🤝 Giovanni Salvetti of Rothschild & Co, with decades of experience in Ukrainian M&A, discussed how this massive influx of capital could change the market Lenna Koszarny, founding partner and CEO of Horizon Capital, highlighted their work managing over USD 1.6 billion primarily in Ukrainian assets with key investors like EBRD, DFC, and the Rockefeller Foundation. The scale of support and investment heading to Ukraine is unprecedented and will undoubtedly reshape its future. #ReBuildUkraine #EnergyTransition #PrivateEquity #PostWarReconstruction #URF #UkraineRecoveryFund
