“CHP of the Month” – Award from German “Energie & Management magazine We are pleased that this innovative project received the February 2025 “CHP of the Month” award from Energie & Management magazine! In the Swiss canton of Baselland, electricity and heat are generated from sewage sludge. In order to obtain as much energy as possible from the wastewater, biogas is produced from the resulting sewage sludge. The combined heat and power plant installed by IWK Integrierte Wärme und Kraft AG uses this biogas to generate electricity and heat. The combined heat and power (CHP) plant can generate 2.4 billion kWh of electricity and 3 billion kWh of heat annually, with excess heat being fed into the district heating network. Pablo Hofelich (CSO) will join the Management Board and will become 2Gs new CEO   After 30 years in the management of the company and with the expiration of his contract at the end of July 2025, co-founder Christian Grotholt intends to move to the Supervisory Board. “I am delighted to hand over my #CEO position to Pablo Hofelich after three exciting decades and I would like to thank all my colleagues for the valueable support in all those years”, says Christian Grotholt (CEO). Japan's largest film studio uses 2G hydrogen CHP system! Toho Co., Ltd., in collaboration with JERA Co., Inc., has launched Japan's first commercial use of hydrogen-fired CHP System at Toho Studios. Toho aims to achieve 24/7 carbon-free energy for all its electricity needs, combining hydrogen and solar power. We are grateful to be part of this innovative project. North America's first Hydrogen CHP system! Enbridge Gas is leading the charge in the energy transition with a groundbreaking pilot project at its Technology Operations Centre (TOC) in #Markham, #Ontario. This initiative is the first in North America and involves collaboration with #2G Energy and CEM Engineering to install a combined heat and power (#CHP) system. This system utilizes emissions-free #hydrogen to #heat and #power the 120,000-square-foot facility, which houses approximately 197 Enbridge employees. The CHP system provided by 2G Energy runs on 100% hydrogen and can operate with a blend of hydrogen and natural gas. #2genergy #kwk #wasserstoff #bhkw #energytransition #energy

Yesterday we were pleased to welcome the Japanese District Heating & Cooling Association (DHCA) during their business trip in Europe at the #2G Campus in Heek. This visit was characterized by interesting discussions and #innovative perspectives about the future embedding of #H2 #technology in local #heating networks and gas #infrastructures both in Japan and Germany. In addition to a presentation by Andre Banken, Head of International Business Development, about 2G and it´s innovative products, Stefan Liesner, in his role as Vice President of Bundesverband Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung (B.KWK) e.V. , presented the status of the energy transition in Germany and then discussed the similarities between Japan and Germany with the participants.
