What is really animal-free and what is not. Find out!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Recombinant Antibodies and Mimetics Database 🧬 This first-of-its-kind database employs a user-friendly, colour-coding systems to categorise recombinant antibodies and antibody mimetics based on their origin, discovery, and production, with a focus on the involvement of animals and animal-derived biomaterials in their manufacture. Explore the database here: https://lnkd.in/eSYPpp4Y There are currently thousands of antibodies in the database, a figure which is continually growing, with new suppliers joining regularly. Serving as a vital link between researchers and global suppliers, the database brings extensive benefits to end users and suppliers by positioning recombinant antibodies and antibody mimetics as the new gold standard in research and development. It has taken a huge collaborative effort to bring this together, led by our Science Manager Stephanie Modi. Our collaborators have been integral to the development of antibody categorisations, providing essential expertise and insights to ensure the classifications are robust and scientifically accurate. Special thanks to: João Barroso, Doris Lou DEMY, Michael Fiebig, Alison Gray, Susanna Louhimies, Raphael Munoz-Ruiz, Nick Turner, Esther Wenzel, Tim Bernard. Our steering group members have also made invaluable contributions to the development of this database, with their expertise playing a crucial role in shaping its foundation. Thank you Michael T.
