AWARD | Kristin Feireiss receives the Fritz Schumacher Prize 2024 This year's #FritzSchumacherPrize for urban design and building culture goes to the architectural curator and founder of Aedes #KristinFeireiss for her commitment to building culture. Hamburg's Senator for Urban Development and Housing, Karen Pein, presented the award from the Hamburg Senate today together with Chief Building Director Franz-Josef Höing. The laudatory speech for Kristin Feireiss was given by board member and architect Peter St John from London. The Fritz Schumacher Prize is given by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg every three to five years to honour the outstanding importance of the former Chief Building Director Fritz Schumacher (1869–1947) for Hamburg's building culture and urban development. Kristin Feireiss is the first female award winner since the Hamburg Senate took over the award again in 2007. In addition to the award for Kristin Feireiss, three awards were also given to young talents.
