Bertelsmann Trainees support the Gütersloh Vesperkirche🤝 On February 6, 2025, 35 Bertelsmann trainees volunteered at the Gütersloher Vesperkirche, assisting with meal distribution as part of the annual community initiative. 🍴 Since 2018, the Vesperkirche has been a regular event in Gütersloh, providing free meals, breakfast, and coffee to all visitors. It serves as a meeting place for people from different backgrounds and is supported by volunteers across various sectors. Bertelsmann has contributed to this initiative for several years, with trainees actively participating and the company providing a €3,000 donation in 2025. "Through this experience, we were able to contribute in a simple yet meaningful way," said Charlotte Theres Reinke, one of the participating trainees. Each day, around 300 meals are prepared and served, with additional visitors coming for breakfast and afternoon offerings. The food is provided by Cultina, a Bertelsmann subsidiary. The Vesperkirche is funded through donations and sponsorships, emphasizing the role of community engagement in Gütersloh. This move marks a significant step into the e-commerce logistics sector, particularly for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands. As part of the "Boost" investment program, which has already allocated nearly 6€ billion with a planned total of 8€ billion, this acquisition reinforces Bertelsmann’s commitment to expanding in North America, its largest and most important single market. With this expansion, Arvato’s U.S. network now includes 16 distribution centers, covering approximately 650,000 square meters of warehouse space. This acquisition enhances capabilities in custom warehousing, distribution, and trade compliance, allowing for more tailored logistics solutions to support the increasing demands of e-commerce businesses. As the sector continues to evolve, the integration of Carbel LLC and United Customs Services positions Arvato as a key player in streamlining logistics operations.
