R e l e a s e The video from the Zak World of Façades London session, held on 6 November, have been released! During this event, Klaas De Rycke of B+G Paris, in collaboration with Alice Dietsch of AL_A, delivered a joint lecture titled "From Spatial Complexity to Renovation: The Challenge of Improving Life Cycle through Timeless Design." The presentation focused on the role of #façade geometries and materiality in creating site-specific, timeless designs that enhance project life cycles. It also featured two key case studies, the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall and the d’Ieteren HQ in Brussels, illustrating these principles in action. C o n s t r u c t i o n P r o g r e s s We are excited to provide you with regular updates on the progress of the ‘Hellerhöfe’ construction site! This new development in Frankfurt's Gallus district is being brought to life by project developer Bauwens. ‘Hellerhöfe’ is designed as a mixed-use quarter, with a strong emphasis on residential construction. A standout feature of the project is a 16-storey timber-hybrid tower that will serve as office space. The photo showcases the site after the demolition of the former headquarters of the ‘Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung’ and the ‘Frankfurter Societäts-Druckerei.’ We are proud to collaborate with SCHMIDTPLOECKER, 03 Arch. GmbH, and KBNK ARCHITEKTEN GMBH on this project. As structural and fire engineering experts, we’re contributing to the realisation of this visionary development. M a g a z i n e R e l e a s e The latest edition of El Croquis magazine offers an in-depth look at OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen's groundbreaking work. Titled 'N. 226 OFFICE 2017-2024', this issue highlights twenty-five remarkable projects that capture the studio's unique vision, for which we collaborated on several of these featured projects, contributing our engineering expertise to complement and enhance their innovative designs. One standout example is Tondo, a project named after the Italian term for the circular paintings famous during the Renaissance. Tondo creates an elegant suspended link between the Palais de la Nation (specifically the former ministry building designed by architect Beyaert) and the Forum Project, home to various departments of the Federal Parliament. Commissioned as structural engineers, we helped bring this glass-and-mirror footbridge to life, a steel structure that resembles an interstellar sculpture that seemingly landed in the heart of beautiful #Brussels in 2021.
