Imagine a world where machines can understand logical inconsistencies just as a human inspector would—now, we're closer to that reality! Anomaly detection (AD) in industrial inspection has traditionally required extensive manual setup and computational heavy-lifting, limiting efficiency and scalability. LogicAD leverages Autoregressive, Multimodal Vision Language Models (AVLMs) combined with format embedding and a logic reasoner, offering a state-of-the-art tool for identifying anomalies, even explaining the anomalies detected. LogicAD achieved a remarkable AUROC of 86.0% and F1-max of 83.7% on the MVTec LOCO AD benchmark, significantly outperforming previous models by a wide margin. This breakthrough points to a future where AI could autonomously oversee quality control processes, greatly reducing the risk of costly product recalls.
