CTC GmbH, based in Stade, is a 100% subsidiary of Airbus. At its core, the CTC develops innovative technologies for the industrial and automated processing of composites, especially CFRP. The focus is thus on application-oriented research for primary aircraft structures. However, CTC also develops technologies and holistic solutions for other industries within the scope of development and consulting projects. +++ #CTC in South Korea - What an outstanding week +++ Last week, we as Composite Technology Center / CTC GmbH (An Airbus Company) were in South Korea with a #German #delegation from the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz / Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (#BMWK) organised by SBS systems for business solutions GmbH and the AHK Korea (Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry). It took place in the framework of a three years Business Development Programme "South Korea-Germany" that is an export promotion project of the Markterschließungsprogramm (MEP). We also had an exhibition booth for the CTC as part of a larger joint stand of the BMWK delegation at the #Carbon #Korea #Conference powered by #KCANIA, where our CEO Marc Fette had the honor to give a keynote speech entitled "#Lightweighting as key #technology - No sustainable #aviation without #composites" for an international conference session led by Henry Hyunkyu SHIN from DACC CARBON CO., LTD. +++ #CTC at AIRTEC & ITHEC & MgA +++ The last week was all about networking, innovation, technology, sustainability, lightweighting and enthusiasm for futuremobility by attending great events all over Germany for us as Composite Technology Center / CTC GmbH (An Airbus Company). Starting with the Annual Meeting of MGA Mobility | MGA Medical - Mobility goes Additive e.V. with great discussions and insights in Berlin, we promoted our joint international MgA - The #VDI #Student Competition 2025 (www.vdi.de/mga) and honored legends of Additive Manufacturing in Europe with Prof. Dr. Claus Emmelmann and Johannes Emmelheinz as an honorary member of MgA on October 8 to 9, 2024. In addition, we had the opportunity to participate in AIRTEC | 22-24 OCT 2025 | MESSE AUGSBURG with a booth at the Composites United joint stand. Our CEO Marc Fette had the honor to host two #conference sessions with excellent speakers on "#Composites in #Aerospace" powered by CU and on "#AdditiveManufacturing" powered by MgA. From October 9 to 10 2024 we had the opportunity to participate in ITHEC - International Conference and Exhibition on Thermoplastic Composites with a booth in Bremen. A speech on the topic of "Process-material interaction in ultrasonic welding – New insights into the hammering effect by ultra-high-speed video" was given by Jan Yorrick Dietrich and Filipp Köhler as part of a collaboration with Faserinstitut Bremen. Our CTC colleagues Maryam Ahanpanjeh and Bhanu Prakash gave a poster presentation on "Moving towards Robotic Ultrasonic Welding of Complex Composites Structures: Robotics, In-situ monitoring and Digitalisation". The results of this work have been developed in close cooperation with the Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg as part of the dtec.bw project "LaiLa - Laboratory for intelligent Lightweight Production".
