deltaDAO AG at the EuProGigant Ecosystem Project Meeting - Shaping the Future of Manufacturing Ecosystems Last month, deltaDAO had the privilege of attending the EuProGigant project meeting and contributing to the final phase of this pioneering Gaia-X-based manufacturing data space initiative. As EuProGigant moves towards completion, our role remains focused on enabling secure, interoperable and sovereign data ecosystems built on the Pontus-X open source framework. 🔹 deltaDAO's contributions to EuProGigant At the meeting, we engaged with partners to support: ✅ Implementation of use cases - translating research into real-world applications ✅ Interoperability across data spaces - ensuring seamless value creation across ecosystems ✅ Federated data sharing frameworks - promoting industry-wide collaboration CO₂ footprint forecasting tools - leveraging decentralized data for sustainability Special thanks to Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik GmbH for hosting us and providing an insightful tour of their production facility. The exchange of ideas and collaboration at this meeting reaffirmed the power of data sovereignty and interoperability in manufacturing. Smart contracts and tokenization play pivotal roles in enabling industrial #dataspace ecosystems like #GaiaX by fostering trust, security, efficiency and interoperability. The recent VDMA Impulse study “Tokenization in mechanical engineering” with hy – the Axel Springer Consulting Group highlights the impressive results. Through the combination of smart contracts and tokens an infrastructure is created in with which data and resources can be exchanged securely transparent and highly automated. It allows collaborative ecosystems to be created in which ALL participants benefit from the exchange of data and services. By integrating smart contracts, industrial data space ecosystems can support and achieve efficient, scalable, auditable, transparent, and secure data management - across organizations. They also allow for fine-grained control over data access and promote compliance with European regulations like the Data Act, Data Governance Act, AI Act, and GDPR. Some of the key benefits: ► Automation and Efficiency: Smart contracts automate processes, reducing the need for intermediaries and manual intervention. This automation leads to increased efficiency and reduced operational costs. ► Trust and Transparency: Because smart contracts are executed automatically based on predefined rules, they enhance trust among parties. ► Reliability: Once developed, audited and deployed, smart contracts are highly reliable and always available. ► Data Sovereignty: Tokenization supports data sovereignty and traceability by allowing organizations to control and trace access to their data and usage of their data. ► Support for Business Models: Tokenization enables pay-per-use business models, as seen in data-as-a-service (DaaS), software-as-a-service (SaaS) manufacturing-as-a-service (MaaS). It supports direct settlement, digital revenue streams, faster exchange of goods and services, thus fostering monetization and business opportunities. ► Interoperability: Smart contracts, building on the global tokenization standards, combined with semantic standards of dataspace ecosystems, such as #GaiaX, facilitate seamless interoperability between different systems and platforms. Pontus-X employs these technologies, including smart contracts, to establish a secure, distributed storage and dataspace ecosystem. It serves as an "ecosystem of ecosystems," offering a framework for multiple #GaiaX lighthouse projects.
