Alternative drive variants still have a lot of potential globally 🚗 Whether lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen, or liquid gas—alternative drive types are playing an increasingly important role in automobility. However, there are major differences worldwide 🌍. According to the Trend Index, a study commissioned by electronica, 51% of respondents from China already use such vehicles. The figure for Italy, which comes last, is just 9%. Germany and France are also at the lower end with 13% and 10%, respectively. So there is still plenty of room for growth. One of the reasons may be that alternative drive systems themselves need better driving forces, such as political incentives and open discussion, to gain popularity.
