Introducing the New E-138 EP3 Variant for High-Wind Sites! We are excited to announce that ENERCON is expanding its product portfolio with the new E-138 EP3 variant, specifically designed for strong wind sites. This new variant will replace the discontinued E-82 EP2 E4, ensuring our customers continue to benefit from cutting-edge turbine technology. Like all E-138 EP3 turbines, the new variant offers an improved power curve, enabling around 1.5 % higher annual energy yields (AEP). While maintaining the standard E-138 EP3 hardware design, we have introduced new load-optimised operating modes, an adapted proactive service strategy, and stronger cast components to handle high wind conditions. Onshore turbine made of lower-emissions steel: ENERCON, Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH (Salzgitter AG), and SMB Schönebecker Maschinenbau GmbH (TM Group) are joining forces to produce the first lower-emissions steel tower for an onshore wind turbine in Germany! This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing sustainability in wind turbine production, achieving more than 70 % reduction in CO2 emissions per steel tower. A E-138 EP3 wind turbine at Diepholzer Bruch will be one of the first onshore turbines in Europe and the first in Germany with a tower made from lower-emissions steel, often referred to as 'green steel'. ENERCON logistics ready for delivering the first generator for the E-175 EP5 E2: As the installation of the E-175 EP5 E2 prototype progresses in Wachendorf, Germany, our logistics team is all set for the delivery of the main components, including the new two-parted generator. All logistic tests went according to plan, all handling processes were rehearsed in detail to ensure ENERCON quality in delivery. 👉 But what makes the E2 generator so special compared to previous models? Higher Power Output: It has a rated output of 7.0 MW, making it a powerful upgrade from previous models.  Innovative Design: The generator features an external rotor design, with the stator located inside and the rotor rotating around it. This design increases efficiency.  Increased Air Gap Diameter: The air gap diameter is expanded from 5.50 meters to 9.50 meters, allowing for higher torque and power levels.  Divisible Construction: The generator is designed to be divisible, with each half not exceeding a width of 4.99 meters and a weight of 62 tonnes. Since entering the Turkish market in 1997, we've grown from 1.5 MW to an impressive 3 GW. Progress in the E-175 EP5 E2 generator test campaign: We are excited to share the latest updates on our new E-175 EP5 E2 generator. This week, we successfully powered up the generator for the first time at our R&D facilities in Aurich (Germany) for ensuring ENERCON quality in our series products. The E2 is an enhanced version of our flagship model E-175 EP5, featuring a newly developed 7.0 MW generator. The innovative two-parted design of the E2 generator combines efficient energy production as well as smooth logistics and installation processes.  Manufactured at our Center of Excellence Generator in Magdeburg, the prototype is undergoing extensive testing, including power level operations and sound characteristic evaluations. We're also examining grid behavior and the grid-supporting properties of the generator-converter combination. Simultaneously, preparations for the first prototype turbine installation are in full swing.
