Our Christmas party was the perfect way to wrap up a successful year! We enjoyed delicious food, great company, and a lot of fun. While stainless steel is our bread and butter, we occasionally craft custom U-tubes from copper CU-DHP, and they’re nothing short of stunning 😍 Measuring 18.00 x 1.00mm, they feature a bend radius range of 27.00mm to 103.20mm, with perfectly matched leg lengths of 550mm. Each piece underwent meticulous quality checks, including 2% measurements for ovality and wall thickness, ensuring flawless results. The ends are cleanly cut and deburred, ready for seamless integration. We take pride in delivering tubing solutions that meet diverse needs, no matter how unique or uncommon. The Final Step in Dye Penetration Testing ⬜️ At this stage of the dye penetration process, we’re applying the developer, a crucial step that brings any potential flaws to the surface. 1️⃣ After cleaning off the excess penetrant, the surface is ready for the developer application. Using a spray, we evenly coat the U-tubes with a thin layer of developer. 2️⃣ The developer rests on the tubes for about 30 minutes, though this time can be adjusted depending on the material and testing environment. As the developer dries, it forms a white coating, which highlights any imperfections that may appear. 3️⃣ During this period, we inspect the surface at 10-minute intervals. This allows us to detect any issues early and address them quickly. If no significant changes appear by the end of the development time, the test is deemed successful, confirming that no surface defects have been found. 4️⃣ After the test is complete, the developer is thoroughly cleaned off, restoring the surface to its original condition. This step is key to verifying the integrity of our U-tubes, especially after processes like heat treatment and bending. At ETU, we prioritize delivering high-quality, reliable products. Applying the Penetrant 🖌 This week, we're excited to share an in-depth look at how we apply the penetrant and the wash-off process. Let’s explore how these steps contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality in our services. The Application Process: 1️⃣ Before we apply the penetrant, each tube undergoes a thorough grinding and cleaning process to ensure that the surface is free of contaminants. 2️⃣ We use a liquid penetrant that is typically non-fluorescent and has a low viscosity. This allows it to flow easily into any open defects. 3️⃣ To apply the penetrant, we use a paint roller, which allows for even and complete coverage. 4️⃣ After application, the penetrant needs time to work. We allow it to rest for a period between 5 to 60 minutes depending on factors such as as the material and the specific requirements of the inspection. During this time, the penetrant fills any open defects, effectively highlighting areas where flaws exist. 5️⃣ Once enough time has passed, we carefully wash off the excess penetrant with water. This is done using light pressure to ensure that we do not wash out the penetrant from any open defects. What’s Next?
