Petter Made (Co-Founder @ SumUp) and Quinten Selhorst (Co-Founder @ felyx) are officially joining EWOR as full-time partners! 📈 Petter Made co-founded SumUp, a FinTech now valued at €8 billion, before playing a key role in scaling Drooms to a 9-figure valuation as CPTO. From eBay, to football, to real estate. Meet our fellow, Tyler Sellars, co-founder of Cactus AI. 💰 By age 12, Tyler was making $12k a month on eBay. After pushing his eBay customers to Shopify, he received a cease and desist order. (Talk about abrupt beginnings.) ⚽️ By 17, he was playing inter-state football in the Super 20 League in New England. Unfortunately, he then suffered two broken ankles, forcing him to shift focus. 💼 During a year of recovery, he earned a sports scholarship to the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University where he sharpened his sales and marketing skills working at various startups. 🏡 He soon became frustrated with those startups' weak financial foundations and turned to real estate. After quickly mastering seller-financing and government insurance programs, he grew his portfolio rapidly 📈 By age 25, he had accumulated 130 units and raised $4.4m. By age 27, he had sold his entire portfolio and re-invested in a network of 450 self-storage units, managing a further 1200 units. At the same time, he started investing as an LP in the U.S. real estate market. 🚀 During this time, Tyler identified a major gap: while stock investors had a mature suite of tools, real estate investors did not. To bridge the gap, he co-founded Cactus AI, a cutting-edge real estate software platform. The first challenge he looked to adress was the time-consuming underwriting process. That’s when Tyler partnered with his co-founder, James Bolduc, who had over $6B in commercial real estate underwriting experience. 👏 Together, they built up Cactus AI to become a platform that reduces underwriting time by 92% and drafts Letters of Intent (LOIs) automatically. 👀 Launching soon, Cactus AI already has a waitlist of over 150 customers and $19B of Assets Under Management (AUM). 💥 TEDx speaker, United Nations assembly participant and European Leadership Academy award recipient - all by the age of 22. Meet our fellow, Rina Bogdanovic. 🧬 Aged 17, Rina delivered a TEDx talk on sex chromosomes (linked in the comments - check it out!). 🐌 Three years later, she was awarded with the British Science Association’s Gold Crest award for an independent research project investigating the use of snail slime for antiseptic purposes. 🎙️ Then, aged 21, she created the first ever glycobiology-focused podcast for GlycanAge. She went on to build a team of 7 and interview experts from Harvard University, John Hopkins, PhD and Columbia University. 🇺🇳 Two years later, she expanded her impact to geo-politics by participating in the United Nations General Assembly with the Women Political Leaders (WPL) team, conducting interviews with leading politicians on global issues. 🏆 In turn, Rina was awarded the Future Leader Award by the European Leadership Academy, a program endorsed by Huawei, as the only recipient among 29 applicants. 📜 This year, she graduated with a BSc in Medical Biosciences from Imperial College London on the dean’s list. 🎊 Amongst all of this, and in a bid to unite artists in the Balkans, Rina has played a central role in the production of Ponta Lopud festival in Croatia for three consecutive years. Art and dance meet AI… … via our fellow, Han Zhu. 🛫 Born in Aqing (a small city near the Yangzi River in China), Han moved to Shanghai for college before immigrating to the US in her sophomore year. She first gained a BSc in Psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Then, backed by a World Science Scholarship from WORLDQUANT FOUNDATION, a MSc in Statistics from the University of Pennsylvania. 💻 Building on her stellar academic foundations, she went on to pursue a number of data analyst roles at international companies, including Walmart, Tesla, ByteDance and Vanke. 🚀 And, in 2021, she leveraged her data expertise to become COO and Co-Founder of Boolv Tech, a Gen-AI platform for video marketing content. 🏆 On release, Boolv Tech’s first flagship product, Boolvideo, won the #1 AI product of the week on Product Hunt and the #4 of the week overall. Han’s mission as a founder is to revolutionise marketing - and she clearly has the ingredients for success. But, at heart, Han is a dancer who loves art. 📽️ Bridging together her role as tech-founder with her heart, she added “Video Producer” to her extensive CV when she produced “Dragon of the East Earth” as a proof of concept short-film. When we asked Han about her proudest achievement, she said that it's her ability to push her own boundaries and learn new skills.
