Members of Furniture Club make good use of AI: Lichtinstitut MELALUX – AI is helpful, but has clear limits “Artificial Intelligence makes my work easier every day, but in the end the decisive factor is still my own knowledge and judgment,” says Rolf Göbel, head of MELALUX Lighting Institute, summing up his personal experience with AI in the furnishing industry. The main task of MELALUX Lighting Institute is to bring together the findings of melatonin research, to drive them forward, make them better known and then implement them in human centric lighting in particular - i.e. lighting that mimics the daily rhythm of natural light and maintains all its important functions for the human body and psyche, even if we spend most of our time indoors these days. This is why Rolf Göbel uses scientific AI, among other things, to compile the latest study results. But this is where AI quickly reaches its limits: “In many cases, not all topics in my field are communicated correctly or thought through consistently. This means that all information and images still have to be carefully checked.” Artificial intelligence has already proved its worth as a daily helper for the numerous smaller and larger publications of MELALUX Lighting institute. “On the one hand, I have my contributions for posts, presentations and texts proofread by AI. On the other hand, I also look for counterarguments for certain theses so that I can have my own ideas checked from different angles. I also have AI create my own photos for my topics so that I don't have to constantly search for photos and can really depict the topic the way I want.” Please rely on Furniture Club - Made in Germany as a "one-stop network for interior solutions". Furniture Club - Made in Germany hat dies direkt geteilt
Members of Furniture Club make good use of AI: GH Hotel Interior Group: Artificial intelligence in interior design AI is increasingly finding its way into creative processes such as interior design. It promise efficiency and new possibilities, but a closer look shows that AI cannot and should not replace people in our field. Opportunities 1. Efficiency & speed AI can run through hundreds of designs in very short time, analysing trends and creating initial room concepts. This provides us with a quick source of inspiration and allows us to focus more on fine-tuning and personalising the designs. 2. Data-supported decision-making AI tools analyse large amounts of data and can provide valuable market insights, i.e. identifying colours, materials and furniture elements that are particularly popular with certain target groups. This would allow us to adapt our designs for serviced flats or hotel rooms accordingly. 3. Sustainability AI-driven databases can identify materials that are environmentally friendly, durable or recyclable - significantly enhancing our advice and optimising the environmental footprint of a project. Risks 1. Loss of the creative signature Interior design depends on the personal signature and the designer's empathy for the uniqueness of a project, while AI rather standardises designs. The use of AI may lead to more interchangeability and loss of individual nuances - something that GH Hotel Interior Group sees as an indispensable part of our work. 2 Data protection Particularly in our industry, where trust plays a crucial role, customers may be concerned that their personal data, such as preferences and usage habits, are being analysed by algorithms. Mindfulness is required here to ensure privacy and maintain our customers‘ trust. 3. Lack of emotional intelligence & spatial awareness The best designs are not created through data analyses alone, but by understanding the emotional needs of our customers. An experienced designer understands the subtle interplay of space and mood – i.e. how lighting and textures in a lobby create a sense of well-being. AI lacks these nuances, resulting in sterile and impersonal designs. Conclusion: AI as a tool - not a replacement AI offers exciting opportunities to support our work, but service, creativity and personalised advice - top priorities at GH Hotel Interior Group – can only be realised by people who understand the complex needs of each customer. The risk of diminishing appreciation for the latter is real as AI advances, but the soul and identity of a space will always remain the result of genuine, human creativity and experience of interior designers. https://lnkd.in/ePtpG2BS. ASSMANN Büromöbel GmbH & Co. KG in Melle veranstaltete (https://lnkd.in/d2EPtmUV). www.furnitureclub.de #furnitureclub #interiordesign #furniture #madeingermany #newwork #buero #arbeitswelten #homeoffice #coworking #highperformer #buerokonzept #raumgestaltung #workplace

Ein sehr interessanter, wichtiger Weg! Die Mitgliedsunternehmen des Furniture Club - Made in Germany - Pfleiderer Deutschland inklusive - haben gerade einen Austausch zum Thema Kreislaufwirtschaft begonnen und wollen hier Know how tauschen, aber auch Kooperationen angehen. Das verspricht sehr spannend zu werden! #circularity #circulareconomy #kreislaufwirtschaft
#kreislaufwirtschaft #recycling #holzwerkstoffe #kaskadenwirtschaft #klimaschutz

Furniture Club members live the concept of sustainability: Surface-mounted ring light LD 8228 by ELEKTRA GmbH Less can mean more! ELEKTRA Gesellschaft für elektrotechnische Geräte mbH , the LED experts from Enger, North Rhine-Westphalia, combined high-quality technology with a sophisticated design in the new LD 8228 surface-mounted light. The result is a glare-free and powerful low-profile light in a smart ring shape. And it has been designed in such a way as to reduce the quantity of material needed as well as avoiding any harm to the furniture it is mounted on. A truely sustainable solution! “Until now, users installing ring lights had to mill or screw into the wood and drill holes for the wiring,” says Henrik Bültmann, the Head of Development and Construction at ELEKTRA responsible for product development and technology. “We wanted to optimize this process for the customer, so we designed a self-adhesive solution with a flat cable connection.” The light and the cable can be easily mounted, retrofitted, and removed without leaving any residue. Furniture remains undamaged during both installation and later removal. Bültmann is particularly proud of the flat cable electrification: “Our solution is based on a LED tape. It makes handling much easier for the customer and significantly reduces the effort involved in installation.” Thanks to its minimal height, the cable is almost invisible. During the production of the ring light already, the LED specialists combined efficiency with sustainability. They produce the COB (Chip on Board) LEDs as ring segments with four pieces per light, ensuring the most efficient “less-waste” approach possible. This intelligent planning was rewarded with the Interzum Award 2023 in the sustainability category – since conventional spotlights with a diameter of 78 millimeters require twice as much material.
