Dear Network, The jGBM München (Junior Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Munich), represented by me, Peter Takacs and Philipp Kölbl, is looking for professionals and companies in the life sciences who want to support our mission by sharing career insights or hosting events for young scientists. If you’d like to get involved or know someone who might be interested, please reach out! And of course we are also always very grateful for financial support. Feel free to connect with us directly here on LinkedIn or via email at muenchen@junior-gbm.de. Please don’t forget to like and share to expand our reach!
Calling companies and professionals in the life sciences in the Munich region! Are you interested in connecting with the next generation of scientists and contributing to their development? We are looking for partners to help us organize events that provide future leaders with insights into various life science professions—from academia to industry, from editorial roles to patent law—and offer them opportunities to visit your location. What we’re looking for: · Insights into careers in life sciences (academia, industry, and beyond) · Behind-the-scenes looks at admission processes in academia and biotech · Discussions on AI in life sciences · Skill training workshops (e.g., presentation skills, computational analysis) · Excursions to pharma companies or startups Who are we? We are jGBM Munich, a local junior organization of the GBM (Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology). Our team—Stefanie Strasser, Philip Kölbl and Peter Takacs—is dedicated to connecting aspiring scientists with each other and with established leaders in the life sciences. Past events include: · Meet-the-Prof sessions · Southeast Symposium (in collaboration with jGBM Leipzig, Jena, etc.) · Industry excursions (e.g., Bavarian Nordic, Evotec) 📧 Interested? Then let's connect! Simply message us via the jGBM München LinkedIn page or connect directly with one of our representatives: Stefanie S., Philipp Kölbl, or Péter György Takács. Alternatively, feel free to email us at muenchen@junior-gbm.de. Please don't forget to like and share to expand our reach! Down below, you’ll find some impressions from our past events. The GBM-Innovation-Award is awarded each year at the STS Meeting of the Signal Transduction Society to a young scientist working on a new and interesting method. In 2024, Annika Reisbitzer's work on the "Novel application of Promega NanoBiT® Protein:Protein Interaction System" was awarded with this 500 € prize. Anna Reisbitzer is a PhD student at the University of Siegen, working in the group of Prof. Sybille Krauß (Human- and Neurobiology). If you are a young scientist (MSc, MD, PhD student or post doc within their first years) who is developing or has developed a novel and innovative method, which might be attractive for all of us, consider applying in 2025: https://lnkd.in/ejAMFiXH #Promega #STS Pictures: Tina Hagedorn
