While it can be implemented independently, the standard is designed to complement the IFA standard for flowers and ornamentals (v6 Smart), as well as the Impact Driven Approach add-on or module. Empowering smallholders: a win for the planet and the entire value chain! 🌍🌱   At FRUIT LOGISTICA 2025, GLOBALG.A.P. highlighted the transformative role of smallholders in building a resilient and responsible global food system. During our panel discussion, Dr. Elmé Coetzer-Boersma emphasized: "Smallholders produce about 30% of the world’s food supply, yet many lack the resources to meet certification standards. Our Primary Farm Assurance program provides an accessible entry point, equipping them to access wider markets."   From South Africa to Brazil and Egypt, success stories shared by Janine Basso Lisboa and Manal Saleh showcased how collaborative efforts are bridging the gap between smallholders and markets. As Janine noted: "Helping smallholders succeed isn’t just about meeting standards—it’s about changing habits passed down for generations. That takes time, training, and market support."   Together, we’re fostering responsible farming practices while ensuring tangible benefits for smallholders worldwide.
