💧 Independent Hydrogen Supply for Woodward, Inc.’s Test Center💧 At its Stuttgart site, Woodward is pioneering a cutting-edge hydrogen supply solution: Two of our Outdoor HydroCabs® ensure independent and flexible on-site H₂ production through electrolysis. The Challenge: Woodward requires hydrogen for its test center to examine fuel cell components. However, securing a reliable supply in the right quantity and at the right time with externally delivered hydrogen proved impractical. Logistical and spatial constraints made on-site hydrogen production the only feasible solution. Our Solution: To address these challenges, two Outdoor HydroCabs® were installed. These electrolyzers produce hydrogen directly on-site, eliminating dependency on external suppliers. This ensures continuous testing without supply bottlenecks. 🌟 Successful Hydrogen Project: Collaboration with Euromekanik AB for Telia At H2 Core Systems GmbH, we are proud to be part of an innovative project showcasing how hydrogen technology is shaping the future of energy. Our Indoor HydroCab® was successfully delivered to Euromekanik AB and deployed in a unique pilot project in Sweden – realized by Telia and the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS). 📍 The Project: At a Telia mobile base station in Roslagen, Sweden, the project explored how hydrogen, combined with solar panels and batteries, can extend backup power supply and operational uptime in critical infrastructure. 🔧 Our Solution: Using the HydroCab® system, we delivered a sustainable and emissions-free energy concept: - On-site hydrogen production and storage: Excess electricity is utilized through electrolysis to produce hydrogen, which is stored in a high-pressure tank. - Energy on demand: In case of a power outage, the stored hydrogen is converted into electricity via fuel cells, ensuring up to 110 days of continuous operation for the base station. 🌟 Project Highlights: - Resilience: Backup power for extended periods, even during prolonged outages. - Sustainability: An emissions-free solution powered by renewable energy and hydrogen technology. - Scalability: The solution can be adapted to other sites and operators. 🔍 Technical Details: - Solar panels: 26 kWp - Fuel cell: 10 kW capacity - Hydrogen storage: 100 kg at 350 Bar, equivalent to 3.3 MWh of energy 🤝 Collaboration Made It Possible: Through the combined efforts of Telia, PTS, Euromekanik, Powercell, H2 Core Systems, and many other companies, a robust and sustainable solution has been developed to reliably power mobile base stations, even in challenging circumstances. 🌍 Transforming the Amazon with Green Hydrogen 📍 Location: FOTOVOLTAICA-UFSC, Florianópolis – Santa Catarina, Brazil We are proud to spotlight an innovative green hydrogen project led by the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. This initiative addresses the critical need to decarbonize the Amazon, where remote villages heavily rely on diesel. By harnessing renewable energy, this project demonstrates the potential of green hydrogen to transform energy systems in challenging environments. What’s been installed? - 3 Indoor HydroCabs® with nine Enapter Electrolyser - A water purification system and water storage, enabling the use of rainwater - Enapter dryers and a compression system to store H2 at 200 bar pressure - A fuel cell system for clean electricity generation - An Enapter Energy Management System (EMS) to monitor and optimize operations How it works: Powered by a 184kWp photovoltaic (PV) system, the plant produces green hydrogen onsite using rainwater as a source. The hydrogen is then stored for later use as a clean energy source, replacing diesel in power generation. Additionally, the UFSC is exploring hydrogen as a substitute for natural gas and working on producing green ammonia for broader applications. Why this matters: This project, developed in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, is a proof of concept that can be scaled and replicated in remote regions worldwide. It demonstrates how interdisciplinary cooperation, local resources, and advanced technology can deliver impactful solutions for sustainable development. The Amazon focus: In remote Amazonian communities, the reliance on diesel not only contributes to environmental degradation but also imposes high logistical and financial costs.
